Happy for these two last night. Both came on and we ended up winning the game. There was a time when Livermore being subbed on meant curtains for Spurs, but lately he has come on and we have got two late winning goals.
He didnt have anything to do with it, but at least it gets rid of that negative mentality surrounding him.
Anyway here are my thoughts on these players.
Livermore - not good enough for Spurs ultimately, that said, to be fair to him he has proved to be a decent squad option for 2 seasons now, and respect to him for that. Also a local lad and massive Spurs fan from a big Spurs family which is well known in the area, so its good to have a player like that come through every now and again.
His England cap is great as it just automatically adds a 1 or 1.5 mill to his value at least. My thoughts are that he wont cut it at Spurs, and if we get an offer close to 5 or 6 mill this summer then we should take it. I dont think a loan would benefit him at this stage.
On to Tom Carroll. I am so happy the lad was on that pitch for the winner last night as that could easily become a big Spurs moment that we look back on as some kind of marker... and as simple as it was, he actually got the assist. I am impressed with the young man. I dont see him being ready for the first team for at least two seasons, but my thoughts are that we should keep him at Spurs next year, let him learn more from Dembele and Holtby etc, and give him a few appearances, and then the season after we look to loan him to a prem side, where he will play every game, no nonsense.
On a side note, its quality that Townsend is just at QPR playing every week. First team player, playing against United etc. Can only be good for him to get consistent minutes, and I expect the player that comes back at the end of the season to be a far better one than the one we let go on loan.
Tom Carroll and Jake Livermore

Livermore is excellent and I get people cannot see it yet but he reminds me so much of ledley king.
Slightly clumsy, looks awkward, sometimes being out manoeuvred everything king was like when he first come into the side.
Livermore will be a standout centre back.
I know your all shaking your heads but the boy is a talent It will just take longer for him to develop.

Two arms, two legs, at least one knee joint etc ??

Hmm ...
I have only seen him play there once to date, and he wasn't under the cosh so difficult to say IMHO (Ledleys' positioning and reading of the game was peerless - and that is not even considering his speed) .

look like modric.
cant see that myself, BUT... we have loads of quality centre backs..... so dont see how he will get a look in at spurs

He would be exceptionally good on the ball for a centre back, dunno bout other traits though

Don;t agree about Carroll. I think he should get more game time next season, maybe a loan ion the 2nd half to an EPL club with a view to being a first team squad regular from the season after.

Carroll needs the toughening process.
Problem is, last season he was loaned out to Derby and apparently couldn't handle that side of things.

I think Carroll can handle the rough and tumble of the game but if the team play long ball football he is ineffective.
A player like Carroll has to have a touch every 4 passes to be considered useful in the game. So pass, pass, pass, back to Carroll, pass, pass, pass, back to Carroll. Similar to Modric.

Modric was strong enough in the PL MF hurly-burly.
Not Dembele/Sandro strong, but hardly Carroll/Pritchard lite.
