I'm sure most of you will have noticed that the team from "Boslem" the Vale have signed up to use the facilities up there at St Georges. Whilst they have every right too i churlishly feel a bit miffed about it as i thought it was a unique angle we had to offer when trying to sign new players !
Having lived in Stoke at times myself i must admit i find it odd that Albion fans see Chesterfield and Notts County as local derbies but not so much the Vale, who are in the same county. It is the only all Staffordshire derby in the football league ! Just an after thought that !

I suppose Terraceman, like a lot of people who live in Burton, I see our ties as being more towards Derbyshire and North Leicestershire, from the days when we were a County Borough. I've never really felt any affinity with Derbyshire and as a non-driver find it easier to get to places in Derbyshire, than it is to places in Staffordshire.

I don't think we have had an intense local rivalry since Gresley in the early 90's. Had they not gone belly up it would have grown into one of the biggest local derbies in non-league football in the last decade. Tamworth never captured the imagination in the way that would have done.
The clubs Terraceman lists are much bigger than us, have been around for decades in the League and over the course of time there will be more seasons when we don't play them than when we do.
As for St George's Park, I suppose the FA have a right to get it to pay for itself.

At Fleetwood there was a few rounds of anti-Vale chants which might suggest that we are trying to install them as our rivals.
