Notice of ads soon to be appearing on JA606

First off, we hope this isn't coming as a surprise to most of you but JA606 will soon have ads(). When I say 'soon' what I actually mean is from the 1st of March.

We have operated the site for almost 2 years without ads (well 654 days) so hopefully you will appreciate we weren't just in this to make a quick buck. Certainly if that was our aim we have failed by quite some distance.

We after exploring various ad agencies and brands for what has been the best part of 1 year have finally found what looks to be a promising arrangement with the agency behind the “Football Fancast" network of sites. The combined size of the network of which we(JA606 + our new news site) will be joining should help provide us with a better type of ad which will be targeted to a sports audience. One of the primary reasons for teaming up with the guys behind Football Fancast, is to grow the size of the ja606 forum over the next year and to provide a revenue stream that will allow us to actively develop the forum and other ja606 related ideas. Please note that we haven't sold (or have any intention of selling) the site or our member details or anything like that.

It is safe to say that ads never really improve the look of a site , we appreciate that but did our best....For those wondering why we couldn't have ads in dark corners of the page....for economic reasons it will be three ads per page on all pages in fairly prominent areas. We are obliged to achieve fairly significant ad impressions(10,000,000s per month) and decent levels of engagement(click troughs) otherwise we don't get paid. So for those tempted to be advocating ad blocker on here, please be considerate to our need to eat(and drink in Admin2's case).
