Our defence has been brilliant, which is amazing considering how many combos we've played. The only real difference for me is that we really miss Modric and VDV without question. Dembele has been really good but i think he finds it difficult with Parker as he has to adjust his position more to account for Scott's going forward. Sandro never did that. Listen, if this style (Bale) gets us over the line then i don't care how we do it, but we need a striker and midfield reinforcements of the Modric/ VDV calibre going forward.
On a side note, i'm surprised the Arsenal fans thought Wilshere had a bad game. He didn't give the ball away once to my knowledge. If that's him on a bad game then it's clearly we're not the only 'one man team'.

The attacking CM threat is a big issue IMHO.
But in terms of PL progression, if we are around the performance level of last season without that, it bodes well for the appearance of such a player come the summer.

Very true... if we keep Bale!

The Dembele/Parker combo has exposed the importance of Modric back then, and the deficiencies today.

Wilshere was pants today, but it's odd the OP thinks Bale was amazing. I though Bale was poor and Lennon was by far your best attacking player. And fridgeboy, Cazorla was far more influential than Wilshere in midfield.

Either way, you dominated the midfield today so i'm not going to get carried away at all. Never write off Arsenal. They've got easier fixtures and no European distractions. We lose to Liverpool, Chelsea and City, that's nine points dropped. I don't really know J Redknapp thinks we're a shoe-in.

Arsenal have a much greater chance of slipping behind Everton and 'Pool than finishing above Spurs. The damage is done, imo.

Reckon you have a 3 match window, from now, to not slip away.
Spurs have a run-in that requires focus for 10 games.
And the last 6 games for Chelsky are hideous.
