Play Off Ticket Shenanigans

I go to every home game and most away games. I don't have a season ticket and I appreciate that the club (any club) values that upfront payment from season tickets during the summer months.

If we get to the play offs season ticket holders should have priority on the tickets. It's what happens after that where my concerns lie.

Remember Oxford Utd when several thousand Brewers suddenly appeared out of the woodwork? Remember Man Utd away when about ten thousand fans appeared from out of nowhere?

In this hypothetical play off game I want a full house and a big match atmosphere but I really hope the club does something in advance should the play offs look to be a certainty. For example, issuing tickets at the Plymouth and Gillingham home games which need to be retained and in turn used to get an advanced place in the play off ticket queue. Might boost the gate at those games aswell.

I would be as sick as a parrot if I was scrapping for tickets with someone who last saw the Brewers at Old Trafford.

nb: In March in the last 2 seasons I nervously created elaborate predictor spreadsheets featuring us and our fellow relegation rivals to try and gain some insight in to who would go down. How things have changed !

Yes it gets to me when folk pop out of the woodwork for big games. This is a serious matter that needs sorting out and i think a voucher system needs putting in place now while only fine supporters like you are attending every match. There is no way that Mr Otep and Mr Terrace can be locked out of a play off match, that would be just down right stupid if it was allowed.

Like you Otep I attend all home and a majority away games when work commitments allow, but don’t have a season ticket and have no proof of attendance so when we get the glamour games I too join the majority.

I have raised before the suggestion for a membership scheme to allow a step up from an odd game attendee but down from a season ticket, this would allow the committed supporters to gain access to future away and cup ties plus allows BAFC to track our attendance.

When we drew Manchester United in 2006 I was only a part attendee only so opted not to camp out for a ticket allowing actual brewers supporters the option to see their team, but the funny thing was when we got the 0-0 result I was able to take my home seat at Old Trafford, as a season ticket holder.

I think clun knew straight away that what happened with the crowd at the Oxford match was a big mistake and it won't happen again.
