Stevie ran to celebrate with goalkeeping coach John Achterberg when he scored - according to James Pearce on Twitter, Achterberg put together a montage of clips for Stevie showing that Lloris always dives to his right for pens.
Even Rocky had a montage

Yeah it's strange, maybe Lloris decided to buck the trend and reckons that if he does a good leap to his right all the time, then he'll inevitably end up diving the right way for a fair proportion of pens? Although the cat's out of the bag now.
It's delightful when something like that comes off, anyway. I always had a grudging respect for that United coach who had videos on his iPod of all the Spurs penalty takers for Ben Foster in the Carling Cup final.

Really gutsy penalty from Gerrard, just proving his class.
He normally always scores to the keeper's right and it being such an important penalty you would have put your hat on him going for his favoured side, particularly after he had one saved vs West Brom a few weeks ago that side.

All keepers have a stronger diving side and its usually diving to the right (my keeping coach told me its due to the heart being on the left of the chest that makes diving that way harder but I'm not convinced). Loris looks to be following that trend.

Sporty
The heart is central in the chest, but inclines slightly to your left. You have a lung on each side but the lung on the left shapes it self to accomodate the inclination of the heart .
Doctor Who has two hearts and research is still ongoing to see how many professional footballers have a brain.
