Is derby county a real, proper football club ? I'm not too sure. I think that they could be the product of someone's imagination. You apparently see them in the papers sometimes, and sometimes it's alleged that they have even been on tv but I have my doubts that they exist. Just wondering, that's all.

As ever, you are incorrect. The nature of a "conundrum" is that the question which it poses doesn't lend itself to a straightforward answer. This is how it is defined. It cannot be "solved".
I hope this information may be of assistance in the future to you and your fickle friends.

Morning Mr Vidal
Just because it "doesn't lend itself to a straightforward answer", doesn't mean it cannot be solved. Far from it. As I said early, it just means that it is 'difficult'. If you had Googled it, you would have got the following:
Noun
1. A confusing and difficult problem or question.
2. A question asked for amusement, typically one with a pun in its answer; a riddle.
3. A riddle whose answer is or involves a pun or unexpected twist
4. A logical postulation that evades resolution, an intricate and difficult problem
You're probably hanging your hat on No.4. The other three don't do you any favours though.
Worringly, you have similiar traits to my missus. She's (on the face of it) intelligent but she'll argue vociferously about a subject whether she is, obviously, completely and utterly wrong. She always want to get the last word as well!

This is one of the most juvenile posts I have ever read... irrespective of which colours you nail to your mast!

Sorry sph. Once again, a conundrum has no "correct" answer, and therefore cannot be solved. An option may be chosen, but it cannot be said to be the "right" one, or to have "solved" the problem in any real sense. I am struggling to bring this down to a level where you might be able to understand it, for which I apologise. I fear you will never be able to get your fickle head around it.
