Match Ratings...

Fabianski - 7.5 - Did well. Looked safe, only strange moment was when he let a cross go under him but not costly. Didn't have to do anything special.

Jenkinson - 7.5- Solid enough defensively, but didn't do enough going forward imo.

Mertesacker - 8 - Solid, a couple of great blocks and interceptions.

Koscielny - 9 - Solid, scored a goal and looked composed.

Gibbs - 7.5 - Safe at the back, but again didn't do enough going forward. Hampered by an injury early on.

Arteta - 4 - Unable to get control of the ball, gave it away in dangerous areas and gave away stupid fouls. Again highlights the need for a more powerful player in that role.

Rosicky - 4 - Only pass he completed seemed to be the one that led to the opening goal. After that he was awful.

Cazorla - 6 - Struggled to get involved out wide. Needed to play central.

Walcott - 6 - Like Rosicky, his main involvement was in the first goal.

Giroud - 5 - Scored, but didn't hold the ball up at all well, and indecisive in and around the box.

Ramsey - 6 - The only midfielder who seemed to be able to find a team mate, and even he found touch too often.

SUBS

Gervinho -6 - Did well to create a chance for himself, unlucky with the finish on the stretch.

Chamberlain - 6 - Struggled to get involved.

Overall I felt the midfield were poor, unable to get hold of the ball and also gave Bayern too much time and space. The defence was solid and was rarely beaten. Most of Bayerns shots were from outside the box, and a few good blocks from the back 4 saved us at times. The attackers suffered from the midfielders below par performance.

A good result on its own, but we have to remember that we lost it at the Emirates, and Bayern were over-content with what they did at our ground. Wrong to judge too much on tonights performance.

Jenius, I think you also have to take into consideration the situation. Bayern went in with the belief they had done the job already.

Bo$$, Jenks lost a bit on his attacking, same with Gibbs.
Fabs lost because I don't think he had anything special to do, even the Robben (?) shot was an easy save, imo.

Walcott 6

Wenger subbed him. So obviously he wouldnt agree with you.

Yes I agree that Bayern thought they had done the job. But the fact is that they rely so heavily on their defense and they were at home

I think most people are predicting Barca Vs Bayern final. And thats only because of Bayern's defending.

I agree with the general sentiment. But disagree with you on Rosicky. Just compare how poorly we did with Wilshere in the advanced role in the first leg. Arteta was the poorest player.

But as I suggest looking the opposition, we did very well.

It's not looking good for Verm atm.

Verm, Sagna, Chesney, Monreal as first choice and Wilshere in the advanced role.

Hopefully consigned to the bin.

Arteta and Rosciky?! were we supposed to play Bayern at their own game?!

If Chez regains his spot automatically I'll be fuming!

I thought that Arteta and Rosicky were excellent.
Arteta was named man of the match by the popular German football website spox.com, by the way.

Rosicky was terrible. Arterta was actually good for a change save for injury time when he went mad and cost us!
