Arsenal performed so much better against Bayern only because they adopted new tactics and didn't try to play the traditional Arsenal game of midfield dominance and passing the opponent to death.
Ironically, many posters are criticizing the Arsenal performance at Bayern for these new tactics and are missing the usual flair. But Arsenal won. Their midfielders didn't have time for flair, they put the emphasis on defense for once, while before they wanted to look pretty and show off their attacking skills to the detriment of the defense.
From the evidence of this match it becomes clear that the players Arsenal have are best suited to a counterattacking game from deep. Arsenal should change their tactics accordingly on a permanent basis.
No more passing the ball around in midfield, no high line etc, but sit deep, put defense first and score through swift counterattacks.
Arsenal need to change their style

I disagree with this. Arsenal can keep their style of play, use it at home and away to 'easier' teams. But you just need a plan B, able to switch tactics when things aren't working, have players you can bring on who can change the tempo you play at. Or set up your team slightly differently for tougher opposition.
The problem is sticking to one tactic for every match, it wont always work, you need to learn your opponents weaknesses and play to that sometimes, especially against strong teams.

Strange game.
Its funny how the first time our defence got it right, Our midfield and fowards failed us.I don't even think we were that good.
Yes were Solid at the back but nothing going forward and but scored twice. Bayern were there for the taking.
Glad the clown , was not in Goal. I just can't stand szczesny. such an average keeper for a supposed top class team. and he thinks he's much better than he is. He talks a big game, kind of like a certain Niklas Bendtner. Kroos long shot's would've gone in with Szczesny in goal.
This game also clearly showed that it is possible to win big games even without playing very well if we don`t defend like schoolboys. I think dropping Vermealen made a huge difference. Defenders should always be intelligent rather than aggressive IMO. £15m for Vermaelen to Barca would be perfect if we could a get a commanding, leader of men CB like Howedes.

Arsenal did play well against Bayern. It is wrong to think that playing well means having a lot of goalscoring chances and celebrating attacking football. Playing well can also mean defending well, keeping your shape, breaking at pace and limiting the opponent to even fewer chances.
