The area around Anfield is in dire straights and in need of regeneration, I know it well my Auntie used to live off Breck Road. This is something the owners have pledged to during the stadium rebuild. I know it's only promises at the moment, and until it starts we have to take their word for it.
I find I'm undecided when it comes to the increases. Yes we've increased commercial revenues. But with FFP coming in we need to increase stadium revenues too. Showing where our ST prices are, in comparison to the rest of the league, wasn't justifying it. Just putting it into context. Yes it's 'only' £3m per year. But that'll pay a players wages for a year.
Like I said I know people, and especially people in the city, will find the rise hard. But other cities, with economic problems, charge more than us.

Only 2 clubs are more expensive on their cheapest season ticket prices and surprise surprise both are London clubs.
You have almost a policy of having a single priced season ticket for anywhere in the ground.Other clubs have cheaper lead in prices but higher priced top level prices.
Their are no cheap prices for your season tickets

Pricing loyal local supporters out of going to games to increase your overall income by less than 2% in these austere times is for me personally not the way to go.
Some Liverpool supporter earlier said his boss had a season ticket for 40 yrs his wife said no more and inside a season he now says he doesn't miss it that much.If this is replicated then the fanbase of local support could dwindle as dad would not be taking his son to the game etc etc

Towards the bottom of the article it says 'Liverpool currently have the 9th most expensive season tickets'.
Look at the range of prices at some clubs. Fulham, Southampton & West Ham charge more at the top end, but are below us in the league. The rest is made up of the usual suspects. United Arsenal etc.
If you were to do it on an average basis our prices come out not too bad.

You are the third highest in the lead in price for season tickets though.
I have said what you have commented on above, but there are 17 premiership clubs offering cheaper lead in season tickets than you including United City and Chelsea

Yes I know. I understood what you said. But as I said if you look at average prices, would you say ours are expensive, by comparison to others?

No but other clubs cater for supporters with different budgets.Liverpool don't
