tbbab - Celtic fans, many of them with Irish ancestry, sing about it because it is part of history. You may think it is wrong because of your hatred of anything Irish maybe? But I think you will find that most people of most races sing songs about the history of their origin.

Now can you explain to me why Scottish Rangers fans who have no connections with Ireland sing about a UVF man getting his Gallows Built?

Boruc, don't try and justify it mate. It's wrong.

And while you are at it tbbab, can you explain to me why Rangers fans took offence to St. Johnstone fans singing Flower of Scotland on Saturday?

Willie,

Pretty much what Phil's article is saying

I see "help for cannon fodder" has found a new home. Have ya done a tour of duty yourself "help for heroes" by any chance? Highly unlikely I'd say given that you spend so much time on forums like this spouting bile. I'd safely say you'd be useless to any outfit of any hue.

Anyway...............As for the article, interesting reading and wouldn't disagree with a lot that Phil said. Some of the songs still being sung by some Celtic fans are decidedly out of date and Celtic fans have plenty of songs to choose from.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time that the out of date songs and chants will go by the wayside and we won't need constant warnings from UEFA to drop certain songs or chants if they prove to be objectionable.

Celtic FC is a great club that will always have a huge connection and support in Ireland. The Peace Process in The North will change the nature of that support but not the strength of it.

WillieRFC -

Wrong in your eyes maybe? However, are songs like Rule Brittania not glorifying English tyranny throughout hundreds of years?

I suspect that the countries they invaded would class them as terrorists. Or does it only work one way?

Let's all agree that these songs are inappropriate and need to be binned...

On both sides...although I do think Celtic fans will find it easier
