The Big Fella.
I have had a quick read of the article and the conclusion I get is as follows.
The RFL have pushed the expanshionism to the limit over the last few years, letting Quins ,Cats and Crusaders bend the rules left right and centre (even though Cats have proved to be a success).
Other SL clubs have had to abide by the rules which say they can only have a certain no of overseas players, have to have certain finances in posistion as well as maintaining projected attendance targets.
These rules go by the board where certain clubs are concerned.
If it comes to a players strike because players contracts and especally pension entitlements are not being met,the RFL should be made to foot the bill.
In any event it is time the clubs stood up and told the people at Red Hall that they are supposed acceed to the requests of menber clubs and not what seems to be the case at present, the RFL telling the clubs they have to toe the line.
What really surprises me is that it is Gary Hetherington who seems to be the the main one complaining,I allways thought he was a Red Hall Man.
Maybe I will be shot down in flames with my comments, but it may breath a bit of life into this site.
Because before this I was ready to call it a day,the last couple of weeks this site has been on its last legs.

The Quins have less overseas players in theie Squad than Wakefield and Rovers.
Haven't the RFL bend the rules to allow Wakefield to stay in super league despite having the worst ground in super league by a country mile, and thats after Wakefield promised the RFL that they would build a new ground on the entry in super league and still we wait.
Wakefield should have been replaced in super league by Halifax, so in my opinion Wakefield are very lucky to still be a super league club, and bring very little to super league, and don't get me on the lack of proper junior development at Wakefield and Rovers.

Who should n shouldnt be in SL will always be a grey area, RFL criteria but no hard n fast rules.
The system should be based on pro n rele.
It should now be averaged over the next 3 seasons, that way clubs can plan and develop instead of beign granted a place.

Not so; Graham Horne and David Hodgeson maybe, but Danny Brough was born in Dewsbury.

It would be interesting to know how much influence Ruport Murdoch and Sky had in bringing in the franchise format. I wonder how many ex-RFL executives are working for BSkyB.
It does grate on someone who supports a Championship side when Super League fans start to talk about 'bending the rules'.
The rules for Super League are 'bent' in every extreme but the majority of those in it don't want a change.
