I was just reading the article on the LMA boss Richard Bevan saying how he finds it "embarrassing" with the number of Managers being sacked. In total, 103 managers and coaches have lost their jobs in 2012-13, which is a record high. I couldn't believe it was that many, it's staggering!
I started to think, do you think the FA could introduce a new law:
-----
1. Any Manager that has been appointed at a club must complete a minimum of 3 years at the club from the date they signed.
2. The board is not allowed to sack the Manager regardless of any situation, as they must stand by their Manager throughout that period.
3. After the 3 years, the board can decide whether to let the Manager go or offer another 3 year contract.
4. Managers in the P.L can only leave in the summer. No mid-season malarky.
----
So many clubs have been affected, Managers are being seen as a total joke, it's not financially sensible to do so and the reasons are just stupid 99% of the time. Do you think this new law I suggest would work and can it be viable? It does need to be regulated.

"If I were the Venkys I would take Kean to trading standards....calling himself a football manager!"
Was he really that bad. Yes he got them relegated. Plus he was hated by the fans, I think that was by association with Venky's. but he had them in 6th and looking fairly decent. Look where they are now.

Sixth with a premiership(ish) squad and parachute money.....
Teams that go down should bounce right back up, WBA made a habit out of it and a good profit too.

That's not always the case. Bolton, Blackburn & Wolves aren't coming back up this year. Hull, Blackpool and plenty of others haven't. Under Keen there was the possibility that Blackburn could've come back up.
TBH I can't stand these Venky's people. They haven't got a bloody clue.

I did say 'should'
I hate foreign owners who dont have a clue......Blackburn will be another Portsmouth.

I'm glad relegated teams don't bounce back straight away. It's adds a bit of variety to the PL. it'd just be the same group over and over otherwise.
I just thought Venky's were mad to get rid, considering where they where in the league.

What about only being able to sack/appoint managers in the transfer window?

The Blackburn situation is a strange one though. The owners don't have a clue and never should have got rid of big sam but you could argue that their sackings this season have been justifiable.
Kean shouldn't have gone when he did but you can understand why they sacked him, it was just very poor timing.
Berg only won 1 in 10 so again you can see why they sacked him. But then it was venkys fault for employing someone with little managerial experience (in England anyways) in the first place.
Appleton also had quite a poor record but again probably shouldn't have been appointed in the first place.

But what if a manager wants to leave? Also contracts are in place so, usually, you'll find that a sacked manager will have been paid off for the remainder of their contract so whether or not they stay for the duration of the contract you'll see that the sacked manager will have been paid for all of it anyway.
Football managers aren't in the worst of positions when it comes to losing their jobs, there's still plenty out there for them to do and their payoff is usually 100% of their remaining earnings on their contract, as I said. A lot of people would give their right arm for that.

3 years is too long but it makes sense to me that if you declare a squad for the season you should have to declare a manager for the whole season. Might help in situations like where Chelsea players wanted rid of AVB, they would all be in it together for the season

I like the can only promote from within idea if a manager is sacked. Or the transfer windows apply to managers too.
