Met him coming out of NCC after playing squash with Ron Fenton. My mates g/f tripped and fell and he rushed to her aid to check she was ok.

Met him sat in Simon's newsagent. Called me young man, shook my hand and discussed a couple of games I'd been to see the week before.

Hi Forest fans, Wolves fan in peace.
I stumbled on this thread and hadn’t realised it was the anniversary of Cloughie’s birth today.
Without any doubt no one will ever achieve again what he achieved with the resources he had available. He was a great manager who had his feet firmly on the ground and never forgot where he came from.

If you haven’t already then try to get hold of these two books both by the journalist Dave Armitage, both are excellent reads.

Great insight on the man from his own words, the players, ex-journalists, even ex-chairmen e.t.c which Wilson puts all together to give a real insight into the workings of Clough but does it in such a way that it is more like you are reading a story rather then a through investigation .

Would recommend to all.... except George Boyd as I'm not sure there is a brail version yet

Mr. Clough. I met him at one of his booksignings at W.H.Smiths. He called me 'beauty' which I took as a great compliment but apparently he used that term when speaking to lots of gells.

Webbo, SBD Billy is a king, Cloughie is a god. Billy has not got any where near his acheivements but as a Forest fan nothing would give me more pleasure than Billy being a better manager than Cloughie. Imagine the trophies he (we) would have to win to do that.

RIP and Happy Birthday the greatest manager EVER. I was lucky to be a fan during our glory days and what I will say is every success savour it. Back in the good old days some of us took it all for granted 'its only a league cup semi final'. If someone sent me back to '78 I'd go to every game.
