Evening reds. As usual the international break has killed ja606 but wondering what people think of the S4.
Its been nearly 2 weeks since the S4 announcement and even though the device is very similar to the SIII, its the most pre registered phone ever and over half a million people watched the announcement live online.
Is anyone thinking of getting it? How does it compare to the iPhone 5 or HTC One?
I am personally tempted, A 1080p display is hard to say no to.

It's annoying that networks put a cap on package contracts but i can understand why they do it. I stick with sim only with unlimited internet.
I try to hold back and wait a bit before pouncing on a new model as more often than not, the first batchers (buyers) often end up being guinea pig testers for those companies' products after they've spent alot of money. Unless i'm fully certain that the product is very reliable etc i will pounce straight away.

I use the Note 2 - my first mobile in half a decade - and it is easily the best phone on the market.
My partner - who worships at the altar of Apple - laughs at the mammoth size and wonder how i cope; i chortle at her Lilliputian iPhone 4s and wonders how she copes!
I will be getting the Note 3 but as i will be in the states for a bit over the summer, if i get the Note 3 there -with the expected specs- will it work in the UK?

Addendum: another reason i love the Note 2 is it negates the need for a tablet. it is a 'phablet'.
My missus goes about with her iPad mini and iPhone; i just take my Note 3! One device rather than two!

If you're intending to buy a Note 3 from the US, if it's anything to go by from previous Note phones, it seems that it would be better if you could buy the 'international unlocked' version as it is less restriced than the American version.
Plus, if you ever decide to sell your unlocked phone it will always retain a higher resale value than a locked phone.
As for your Apple loving partner, i don't put them on a pedastool of almightiness nor do i dislike them, but i do think they could 'do better'. They have goods and bads about their products and software. I'll leave it at that.

I would actually consider getting an ipad mini if they had a full HD screen and with removable storage as they're not a bad tablet. One can only dream
I wouldn't take/use one out in public as i think a Note 2 is alot more ideal for portable outdoor useage.

If you have a Note 2 or a Note 3 what would you use an iPad mini for?

it just feels cheap and very plasticy i used to have iphone 4s and wish i had of kept it. I think its too big, granted it is very fast and the screen is good aswell but its just too big for my liking. I know its that size because of the screen but i dont watch movies on my phone. Also the apps leave alot to be desired. Mostly its the materials it just feels cheap for a phone that is supposed to be best on the market.
