Morning reds
As you all know tickets for the Manc derby are long gone but I was browsing Uniteds website last night and was looking at prices for some of the VIP packages. Believe it or not, some are still available for the derby and was thinking about going with the lady. That was before I saw the price. £360 for one match!!!!!

Has anyone ever experienced the VIP match day package. I feel its something I need to try once before I die but not sure i'll ever have enough money to justify going

Aye, it is basically worth it as like a 1 off thing as a treat for a birthday or Christmas present or something. Unless you're £360 desperate to see the match.

I have. They beer is sh iite, the food ordinary, and you get some superanuated ex player spouting ball ox at your table. The only good thing at United was the barmaid took a shine to me and did an unofficial happy hour. The downside was that I had 7 pints of larger and needed a pee every 10 minutes in the first half.
The only hospitality I have ever really enjoyed was at Aston Villa where I got to sit next to Miss Aston Villa - or as I call her Debbie.
Down with the plebs is where its at, better atmosphere, and a bloody site cheaper

Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. I'd like to try it once, just for the experience I guess. Rather just be left to sit with whoever I went with, with a handful of beers instead of having the game narrated one, and how these chairs were a gift from some wealthy investor.

You get stuck in a soulless part of the stadium, the food is basic, but you can drink your money's worth in free booze. Personally I would do it, just not make. Regular thing of it

Aye, I'd agree with that, I think of it as more of a 'gift' type thing.

Ok for a treat I suppose and everyone is different. I found it lacking in atmosphere and not the way I have always watched the game - and it probably didn't help seeing my mates in the rows below me going mad mental when Eric scored while I ordered another prawn burger.

worth every penny as a 1 off treat. Especially for a big game.

I've been a few times and for me, it isn't worth the dosh whatsoever.
I guess if money's no objec thought, then go for it.
Depending on where you are, you can get a few funny looks if you actually join in any singing so be prepared for that.
Which one ya thinking of doing? Red Cafe?

I think i had the perfect combination last season. Can't remember who it was against, maybe Stoke. I was in my normal ST seat in the North Stand during the game, then at full-time i jibbed into the exec bit and enjoyed the free bar and a chat with Dion Dublin and Jimmy Greenhoff. So I managed to enjoy the match in a normal environment, then got all the free booze afterwards. Sorted.

Sounds like a quality day - the very mention of Jimmy Greenhoff took me right back to wrangler jackets, doc martins and scarves tied round wrists - jeez i'm gettin old !
