Aww the poor guy revealed he suffered from Depression last season due to playing too many games for Newcaslte & France.
A cracking quote below from him:
"On a morning when I woke up, I could still feel tiredness. I wanted to think about something else rather than football"
Im sure the 60K per week (or whatever hes earning) helped with the battle.
Imagine if he had a real underpayed job.

Hes suffering from depression because he think hes played too many game in the season and because there isn't a winder break. Hardly the sorry type of depression most people suffer in the world.

Depression is an illness that should not be mocked.
R.I.P. Robert Enke, Dale Roberts and all the other people in the world who have fallen to this harsh condition.

Would you people be having a go at him if he had meningitis or cholera?
No.
So why should he be mocked for suffering from another type of illness?

Shame on the OP and anybody who agreed with him

I just thinking there has to be more to it than only playing too much football
Most people with depression get it because of endless financial struggles, loss of friends/family, loneliness/isolation or living with terminal illnesses or chronic pain. Playing too much football is an odd reason though..

what he pointed to regarding the autobiographies is the post match/season comedown that many sportsmen suffer from
I dont know though if he was saying he was diagnosed with depression or there's something lost in translation and he just meant he struggled mentally

Clinical depression is really serious, the problem is the word depression is used a lot for being a bit sad so a lot of people think people with 'depression' are just upset or lazy but it's a medical condition.

Professional Football isn't only about playing a handful of games every month. It's about turning up to to training every day, trying to impress a manager to actually play you in the games you are training for and focusing your lifestyle around football.
