Johnson: 4/10: Great shot, awful defending
Smalling: 5/10: Let nobody down but did not dominate and give confidence
Lescott:5/10: Too lethargic at times althhough solid at otehr times
Cole:6/10: Attacked and defended as well as anybody
Carrick:7/10: Good at back and going forward
Cleverly:4/10: People keep telling me he is good. Haven't seen it yet.
Gerrard:3/10: Capatain fantastic? You're having a laugh. Awful, truly awful.
Milner:6/10: Saved Johnson a few times and put in some good crosses
Welbeck:5/10: Gets a lot of stick but he's a good player. Did okay
Rooney:6/10: Good goal. Good first half no service after the break.

Hodgson 1/10 for showing up

Carrick was the only England player in shot on the TV screen for most of the game. Positionally he was good. He supported the attacks and occupied the space in fromt of the defence well. he had absolutely no help from Gerrard and Cleverly.

I'd agree but I'd put Cleverley at a 6. I thought he linked up well in the first half but nothing went his way in the second.

Yeah, Carrick was good all round but not enough to make him the stand out man of the match.
