What would you expect/wish Arsene and Arsenal to do if we fail to win anything in the coming season.
Reason I ask is that nothing has convinced me to expect anything different this season.
In a way I'm glad that we have Liverpool and Man Utd in our first the league games. It will show as an early indicator, whether the team has changed and most importantly improved from the summer break.
Probable scenario

To tell the truth, as nice as winning something would be, just seeing a positive change in direction would do me fine.

^ agree, I don't think everyone is expecting miraculous things this season. Just signs of ambition and an acceptable amount of changes to stop the endless repeating cycle of the last few seasons.

I agree, we could end up winning nothing but if we have fixed the old problems and have a side which is clearly moving forward then I would be happy for Arsene to stay on
But if we finish 6th and the same old errors occur then I would be upset. I don't think this will happen though. I think Arsene has realised that things need sorting. Just hope all this is proven on the first day against Newcastle

I'm not sure it will. In the big games last year we were pretty good and we've shown we can raise our game for them. It's the games against the lower opposition that I think will truly show if we've changed.
Can we kill off the game? Can we defend a lead? Can we break down 10-man defences? These are the questions I want answered.

Going by our two most recent examples - no, no and no (second half against nyrb).

Honestly I won't be bothered if we come up short again, I would just like to see some improvement and signs we are moving forward. I think he have been stale since 07/08. Worrying thing is IMO we show no signs of improvement.

I don't read to much into the friendly games to be honest. If you look at how many goals we've let in this pre-season with either Koscielny or Vermaelen on the pitch it makes for much better reading. But we won't know for sure until we're in a proper competitive match.
The other problem is that the issue is heightened by the coverage the media give it. If we won our first 6 games 4-0 and then in the seventh drew 1-1 after being 1-0 up in the 89th minute the media would automatically revert to us having the worst defence in the country.

I don't expect anything to change. Although I do expect a top four finish, and that'll be enough for the board to continue with Wenger's low-set vision. Although it would be a disaster and could send us on a downward spiral if we were not to finish In the top four that would really set the cat amongst the pigeons - the board would be faced with a real decision to make re Wenger then (no trophies for 7 years and now out of top four).
