Sorry to remind you of football so soon after that 'no show' from the team. I need to roll the Accrington predictor out.
We got what we deserved in that game - nothing.
Only one correct scoreline prediction today. Me. I could just see a rusty performance on the cards and that was well rusty. For the record, my 4th of the season and 2nd in succession.
Elsewhere in the league only Marco predicted defeat so there is not much movement in the table.
1) Captain Utd - 94
2) JFWqwerty6 - 92
3) Foxy Freddy - 91
4) Stuart44 - 81
5) Don Touched My Boots - 79
6) Marco - 79
7) Otep - 79
8) Emnez - 74
9) Steve1210 - 73
10) Derby Yellow - 71
11) Old Brookender - 71
12) Burton Boy - 67
13) Terraceman - 66
14) Ady1963 - 56
15) Brewer Dave - 48
16) Frank Ashton - 41
17) BAFC123 - 33
Brewers Match Predictor League Table (40)

Yes i for one half expected us to slip up today , we tried hard to make things happen but i thought Chesterfield set out to close us down and fustrate us which they did very well . The goal was a good one ,i dont think Tomlinson expected Talbot to suddenly unleash a shot destined for the top corner . I thought Zander Diamond was immense at the back ,Sharp was rather fortunate to escape a red card for holding his man who was clear on goal , the warnings were there but lets pick ourselves up ,and go and try and get the three points at Accrington .With Port Vale having to go to Chesterfield on monday and Northampton facing a difficult trip to Cheltenham it could be a different picture come monday night .

I'm fine with the defeat today. We were awful and did not deserve anything.
You'd rather it happen today than in a play off semi-final.
Typical. A few more fans than usual turn up to see what is happening with us near the top of the table. And we entice them back for more by offering up that.
I was actually a bit disappointed with some Brewers fans today. Maghoma was getting far too much stick for my liking. He didn't have a good game but no-one else did either so he shouldn't have been singled out. There is one player who plays every week who is always worse than him (every game without fail) and he did not get the same stick.
With regards the goal, I was actually surprised Tommo did not save that shot. It was quite close to him and a fair distance out.

A bad day at the office Brewers. Things just did not go our way and credit to Chesterfield they did there homework. They kept mags, bell and weir out of the game and put 2 or 3 on them for most of the match, giving them no space at all. Its 1 game lost out of 10 and it had to happen at some point.
Time to move on Brewers and think about what you are going to do about it on Monday.
Come on GR we are at the part of the season when points mean prizes.

I just cannot take to MacDonald or Symes, both were utter garbage today. Poorest performance I have witnessed all season, Zander apart not one of the starting 11 turned up, all struggled to cope with a well organised Chesterfield side. Symes should have been pulled off at half time he was that bad.
I am going to really upset the Billy Kee love brigade now. At least three occasions in the first half and three occasions in the second half, Kee had ball at feet and instead of squaring to his strike partner (Symes or Pato) turned away and tried to do it all himself, greedy, one of those balls could have played us in, instead he only thinks of himself, I was infuriated with him today.
Bell disappeared and Weir was unlucky to get his booking but that's him out for two games Jack Dyer will need to turn up.
Drove from Glasgow to get to this game as I was visiting friend, didn't expect such a poor performance.
We need changes for Monday this 11 just weren't up to it.

Am definitely feeling everyone's pain. It was a very bad day at the office and those players we expect to turn up week in week out just didn't.
For me first half was probably the worst I have seen us play all season, Chesterfield bossed us and I lost count of how many times we just hoofed the ball anywhere. I've got to agree with the MacDonald comments, he was poor. But so was Jacs, Billy and especially Symes. I was really surprised there weren't any substitutions at half time, it really was that bad.
We were outdone by a superb strike, although I am sure Tommo will be a little disappointed he didn't get anything on it.
Pato again (after a crap first pass) looked lively and I think he brings a lot more to the attack than Symes, Phillips put in one cross towards the end, but I don't think he's up to it and Drury just didn't get long enough, he should have replaced the very poor MacDonald at half time.
We are all managers, we are all fans, more important than ever we put this behind us and trust in GR to make the right changes for Monday and we take the game to Stanley to ensure we get the three points.

Just a couple of observations to add the comments already posted, most of which I agree with.
From the off, they did to us what we normally do best. Got in our faces and made sure they won the second ball.
Our reaction was to go long. I think the reason Symes looked out of sorts is that he was having to fight for flick ons instead of being able to control the ball on his chest or with his feet, which he is good at.
Mags wasn't so much worse than anyone else but we have grown used to him being so much better than everyone else and so the gap in his contribution was acute. Agree that they had two men on him as soon as he got the ball but this seemed to put him off tracking back, which left McCrory exposed too often. Same on the other flank, with O'Connor often facing two out wide, especially second half.
Were Bell and Weir just outbattled or were they by passed? Too often for my liking, Zander and Sharpsy went over their heads.
Wasted a lot of dead balls. Couple of free kicks in dangerous areas (for what looked very light challenges on Mags!) that didn't trouble their keeper and some of the corners were woeful.
But as I said on my prediction post, this was overdue. Ten wins out of eleven is still a magnificent achievement and we should not panic and abandon the good things that have got us to where we are.
Jack must be champing at the bit to show what he can do. Calvin is always a menace if he is fit but no need for wholesale changes in my book. Just a bit of encouragement for Gaz to change it a little sooner if it doesn't work. We've got the best squad we've ever had and if we can use fourteen on a match day, let's do it in a way that gives them time to make a difference.
