I don't know about not replacing their best players.
We have got rid of:
Carroll (replaced by Ba)
Barton (replaced by Cabaye)
Nolan (replaced by Gosling)
Enrique (replaced by Dummet or Ferguson, already here, possibly will buy another left back).
Plus we have bought Marveaux.
