Team for Saturday

Not wanting to take anything away from the team that Billy had to put out on Saturday. It was a gutsy performance from what now seems to be mostly our 2nd team.
I assume that on Saturday now that some of the first team have recovered, we will see him put out his strongest side again.

Blackstock seems to have lost it since he gained his new deal

I would put out the same team as was against Brighton except changing Jara Reyes for Hutchinson (maybe) and Halford for Collins (even though he did make a good save on Saturday)

Will probably be the same team as on Saturday though except I would be tempted to put Gillett on before Moussi if Pep hasn't recovered

I like Moose but he has always been capable of going from the sublime to the ridiculous even in the same match. I can't see Gillett getting back in the team, I don't think he has made the bench for Billy. If Pep isn't fit, maybe Greening is worth a try. I thought McGugan did enough in a poor team display yesterday to hang to to his starting place. I think Halford is a better defender than both Collins and Ward but it is a close call. A close call for the strikers too, none of them carry much of a goal threat at the moment. They need to start finding the net before the playoffs.

I think strett hit the nail on the head, in his 'Stress & Pie' thread. We are just not the same team without Pep in the side. Hopefully he will have recovered enough to be included in the starting eleven at the weekend.

We need our strikers to sort themselves out, as well, please! When they do, someone is going to get thumped, big time!

Gillett is useless lightweight and not strong enough, moose every time for me

I agree with the first bit, but not the second bit.

Moose has looked a bit better though since Billy has been back. Don't think we play as well with him in the team though, and would rather us play a flat attacking midfield with Magic and Lansbury in the middle.

Hopefully we'll drop Sharp too. Cox is a much better player, and despite not scoring, offers so much more to the team than Sharp does Won't be particularly fussed if we don't sign him tbh .. he's not been the same player since SOD left.

Problem with Sharp is that he doesn't suit our current style of play. When Billy took over he had to utilise what he had and that included a lot of good attacking midfielders but no real pace to get behind defences and create things for poachers so he used Hendo and Cox to create for the midfield instead. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sharp sign in the summer because Billy Davies will be able to mould his own team in the pre-season.
