It's a momentous week for both teams.
Wigan beat Norwich 1-0, extending their good run with a home win and, for once, keeping a clean sheet. They climbed out of the bottom three on goal difference.
QPR lost 3-2 at Fulham, although they did pull back from 3-0. They missed a penalty but finished strongly against ten men.
Wigan go into the next game full of confidence, and can look forward to the semi final at Wembley the week after. QPR must be terribly disappointed and must fear that they will not stay up. Defeat against Wigan will make it almost certain.
Wigan away at QPR

I think even the most avid R's fans know we're going down. However a team that can play without having any pressure on them is a team to fear. Your playing us at the wrong time and i'll be surprised if you get any points this weekend. Good luck with staying up though.

Thanks! But I'm not sure that the QPR team have reached that relaxed state yet.
But the bookies are with you;
QPR to win 69/50
Draw 19/10 = 95/50
Wigan to win 12/5 = 120/50
I might make a modest wager myself!

No serious injuries for Wigan. Shaun Wright-Phillips will miss the rest of the season for QPR.
Wigan are playing quite well - they had an emphatic cup win at Everton that seems to have raised the spirits of the team and the fans.
Rather more fortunate wins against Newcastle and Norwich have followed. But luck seems to be with Wigan for the time being. And the players are playing for a place in the semi final next week end.
I wonder what mental state QPR are in. Will they make one final desperate effort to stay in the race? Would an early goal against them leave them utterly deflated?
We'll have to wait til Sunday to find out.

S.W.P. missing the rest of the season will ave no impact on our first team. Obviously there are many outcomes to any game. My take on Sundays game is this ; Q.P.R. total cavalier attitude (nuffin to lose) against Wigan totally desperate with everything to lose. Only one outcome a resounding win for the R's.

Thanks for that!
The cup win at Everton has lifted Wigan - both the team and the fans. They are all looking forward to the semi final and the final games of the seaon.
There is no sign of nerves - Wigan have been here before! They were in a much worse position than this last season. And in Martinez they have the calmest - and perhaps the best-educated - manager in the league.
QPR fans may be resigned to relegation, but Redknapp knows that defeat to Wigan will condemn QPR to the Championship. I think he may send them out to make one last effort to save themselves.
Wigan won 3-0 at Aston Villa and 3-0 at Reading. They just may complete their hat-trick.

1-1
Needed 3 points but Wigan will still stay up.

What an uneasy afternoon! And there will be more to come.
QPR looked dangerous until Zamora went off. Sending-off seems severe when no harm is intended - but that's the way the rules are interpreted today.
QPR retreated, and Wigan patiently waited for their opportunity. Too patiently - they needed to create their chances.
QPR scored a most unlikely goal, but Wigan dashed their hopes with a last minute equaliser. It was heart-stopping stuff.
I'm sure we'll meet again but, as the song says, Who knows where, who knows when? Good luck wherever you go.

Don't know when ? As the song says thats on "some sunny day". Hope for your sake it's not next season in August !! If you want to stay in the Premier you'll ave to play a lot better than you did on Sunday. However, and i ave been known to be wrong but i ave a feeling Stoke are about to implode. You just might get out of it again.
