Group C
Terry
Team: QPR
Odds: 12 – 1
Previous Tournament Performances: Quarter-Finals, Group-Stages, Group-Stages, Group-Stages, Group-Stages
Ranked: 16th
Poor Terry, can never seem to catch a break when in the group stages, tough group after tough group, well welcome to my world son! Joking aside this is a pretty hard group to get. He has face to SpursBoy and Voom both ranked 1st and 2nd respectively then throw Henry into the mix who also has proved his worth in the tournaments and you have a bit of a nightmare situation on your hands. The best I think Terry can do in this group is throw a spanner in the works for one of the players as he won’t be consistent enough to qualify.
Verdict: Group-Stages
SpursBoy
Team: Spurs
Odds: 2 – 1
Previous Tournament Performances: Semi-Final, Winner, Winner, Winner, Semi-Final, Semi-Final, Semi-Final, Quarter-Final
Ranked: 1st
SpursBoy is currently on a large downward spiral having posted his worst ever tournament result last time I think it is fair to say his aura has well and truly evaporated, but that is not to say he can’t get it back. He has landed a tough group, but a great team in Spurs to get him through it, which I think he will and also has the chance to show Voom he is still the best or not. In the knock-outs I reckon he will get to the semi-finals, which is not bad judging by recent standards, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he went out in the group stages! If this trophy drought ever gets too much SB, listen to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSQDqNFvYD4
Verdict: Semi-Finals
Henry
Team: Fulham
Odds: 6 – 1
Previous Tournament Performances: Quarter-Finals, Group-Stages
Ranked: 13th
After his excellent performance last in the Group-Stages, fighting back from an early setback against Tyke to knock-out May and Junior, I would normally back Henry to get out of most groups, but this isn’t most groups. However unlike Terry he can certainly push Voom and SB all the way and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see this guy in the knock-out rounds. Tough opponent.
Verdict: Group-Stages
Voom
Team: Swansea
Odds: evens
Previous Tournament Performances: Semi-Final, Winner, Winner, Semi-Final, Winner
Ranked: 2nd
Well what did I say? I predicted Voom to return from the Norway Tournament as champion and he did just that. He is the player to beat at the moment and has equalled SpursBoy’s three title record and has more titles than him if you count spin-offs. As for this tournament a tough group is in store, but I reckon he will get through and enjoy putting a nail in the coffin of either Henry or SB. I think a team like Swansea suits his style of play so he isn’t handicapped too much by them being weaker than the big guns, however this handicap could show in the final against Kent, runner-up!
Verdict: Final
