EPL Tournament Preview Group D

Ludy

Team: Wigan

Odds: 10 – 1

Previous tournament performances: Group Stage, Group Stage, Group Stage, Group Stage, Group Stage, Group Stage, Quarter-Final, Group Stage, Group Stage

Ranked: 14th

Everybody’s favourite Group Stage fodder seems to have reverted to type unfortunately after finally securing his progression in the League 2 tournament. However this group is a very open group and he should still feel he has a good chance of getting through. He is capable of beating RVPM, Jag and Virus and has been giving positive vibes about his chances for a change. Personally I think he will go out, but it will be a lot closer than his last effort.

Verdict: Group-Stages

RVPM

Team: Villa

Odds: 10 – 1

Previous tournament performances: Group Stage

Ranked: 21st

Been a while since RVPM has entered a tournament and a lot has changed since the MLS tournament too. He was always a challenge for everybody, just seemed to lack that killer goal. He fancies his chances in this group and why not, it’s an open group and I wouldn’t be surprised if his name was in the hat for the knock-out stages. I think just like Ludy he will miss out, but only just.

Verdict: Group-Stage

Virus

Team: Newcastle United

Odds: 6 – 1

Previous Tournament Performances: Quarter-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Quarter-Finals

Ranked: 13th

Poor Virus, every time it looks like he is going to have a good tournament he lands May or Voom and gets knocked out. Three quarter-final exits in a row now, surely he is akin to some kind of record if this happens again and I think it might! I back him to get through the group as he is a decent player who has established himself in the tournaments and has Newcastle United who are decent. For some reason I think he will go out in the quarter-finals again, to Voom.

Verdict: Quarter-Finals

Jag

Team: Everton

Odds: 6 – 1

Previous Tournament Performances: Semi-Final, Final

Ranked: 9th

Jag had a marvellous tournament last time round, scrapping through a tough group, knocking out reigning champion Kent and getting through to the final. If he can repeat something like that this tournament he will be well on his way to becoming one the elite players. Everton are a tough team and I expect him to get out of this group and probably a decent run to the semi-finals, racking up those ranking points.

Verdict: Semi-Final
