If Scholes and Fletcher retire and Anderson is sold we will have to sign 2 medfielders. I want us to go for both Strootman ( dutch team regular) and Wanyama ( could be our yaya toure) so our central medfield options would be: Carrick, Cleverley, Powell, Strootman and Wanyama.
With Zaha coming in I don't think we will sign another winger even if Nani leaves. So we have Valencia, Young, Giggs, Zaha and Kagawa as wide options. Really hope we get the old Valencia back.
Think central defence is fine with Ferdinand and Vidic being backed up by Evans, Jones and Smalling.
Rafael has established himself at right and Smalling/jones can cover when required.
Think Fabio needs to be given a run of games at left back while we also have Evra and Buttner. So a new left back shouldn't be a priority this summer.
Up front I think it's perfect with Rooney,RVP, Hernandez and Welbeck. Really hope Welbeck learns how to finish though. Henriquez will probably go out on loan again. Definitely need to keep Rooney as he is our most important player.
So I'd be delighted with a summer of:
Strootman £15-20M
Wanyama £10 -15M
Zaha
Fabio - loan return
This summer

I don't see the point in buying Wanyama. I'd much rather we went for Gundegon who is more versatile and younger than Wanyama. We also need a left winger

Wanyama is 21.
He's a year younger than Gundogan.
I'd be happy with any decent midfielder who can stay fit to be honest. Any of Strootman, Gundogan or Wanyama would be great for me. Getting two of them even better.

I'm not fussed about getting a destroyer like Wanyama.
How many games a season do we need someone like that? I'd rather see how Jones progresses in such a role, he did fine at the Bernabeu, you wont get many bigger tests than that.
I'd rather see the money go on someone to partner Carrick. Modric would be my choice.
Carrick, Modric, Clevs, Ando and Jones. That is not a bad CM, not bad at all.

You forgot about Peter Pan. Just signed a new deal.

I'm hoping that if we sign a new CM... he will just be used sparingly on the wing.
Ever the optimist, me.
