I always felt that the Stoke City match would be a 'must win' game, with games running out and others hitting form but I didn't really expect us to pick up the three points today. So the result is magnificent for us but Sunday's games are massive and crucial to our survival hopes. Tomorrow, we must become avid supporters of three West London teams.
QPR v WIGAN
Two damaging defeats for QPR mean that it could be a last throw of the dice for Redknapp and Co. Rangers sit 8 points behind 17th placed Sunderland but a Wigan win will take the Latics to 33 points, leaving the Londoners a virtually impossible 10 points off the safety mark. The sands are running out for 'Arry and his team and both they AND Villa must prey for a home win tomorrow. Wigan must NOT be allowed to gain any more momentum. A win for them tomorrow and they leap-frog Villa once again - still with a game in hand !!!
COME ON THE R's !!!!!!!!
CHELSEA v SUNDERLAND
This match is very worrying for all Villa fans. Already this season, Chelsea have let us down very badly, losing at home to QPR, losing a two goal lead at home to Reading and most damagingly of all, losing pathetically at Southampton. For Villa's sake, they must NOT slip up at all against what will be a fired up, super-charged, Di Canio led, Sunderland team.
Chelseaa have beaten Manchester United AND Rubin Kazan this week. We EXPECT a performance from them but fatigue and the expected 'bounce' from Sunderland add up to a very disturbing scenario for Villa.
Chelsea simply MUST win.
COME ON CHELSEA !!!!
NEWCASTLE v FULHAM
Fulham should be safe on 39 points now, so we desperately need them not to 'switch off''. Toon looked safe only a couple of weeks ago, but THAT defeat at Wigan and a thrashing at Man City have left them deep in trouble again. Tomorrow, for VIlla's sake, they must NOT win. We need them down with us, scrapping for their lives. The worrying aspect is that Fulham don't travel well. But the home crowd will be anxious. If Jol's team could get a draw, that would be great for us.
COME ON YOU COTTAGERS !!!!!!!!
So, we look to West London for assistance now. We could be feeling even more pleased come tomorrow night OR we could be back in the relegation zone, with another game gone
Magnificent - Now we look to West London !

I'm fairly ambivalent to who goes down with the exception being Villa. Premiership wouldn't be the sane without u guys. Happy to see you get a win today.

As a chelsea fan I apologise for our performances against QPR (twice), Reading and Southampton (twice).
Also for destroying your GD so early on in the season.
You can only imagine how frustrating this is for us too

It seems like chelsea are intent on sending us down, I think benitez is still upset he didn't get the villa job.

Think Newcastle will beat Fulham although could change side a bit for Europa.
Would like a draw at Loftus Road
The other game is a big worry, god knows what will happen

Without question, TWO of these results MUST happen. If not, it's backj to square one with another almighty sock to the jaw.

Wellwe could have done without Newcastle scoring deep into injury time! They would only have been one point ahead of us if they hadn't. With Sunderland to play next week.
But, we got the two out of three I thought was necessary. Onwards we go.
