Suarez Is A Poorer Version Of Aguero

Arsenal, yeah man. Oh yeah.

As harsh as that sounds it's true.

Suarez has done excellently this season. Especially when you look at where Liverpool are in the league.
But as I've always maintained, stats don't paint the whole picture.

Aguero's been injured for large parts of this season, and his team has generally struggled to get going.

Let's compare the players actual abilities for once though please.

Dribbling:
Tight one. And though Suarez's is highly efficient, I'd say Aguero's is more deliberate and close control based.
This is not a slight on Suarez though. Easily second best in the Prem.

Passing & Link up play:
Both are great this. But I'd hand this one to Aguero once again.
His passes are so sharp and accurate. He combines that well with his movement.

Touch & Control:
I've come across some laughable and ludicrous statements from some of our Scouse friends.
According to some of them Suarez is the most technically gifted player in the Prem.
God knows how they came to this conclusion.
And while his technique is good, he's not even in the top 5 I'd say.
This one is not even close. Aguero's once again.

Shooting & Finishing:
Suarez may have scored a lot of goals this season. But honest to God.
For a top forward his shooting technique and finishing is woeful. 9/10 he scuffs in his shots, forcing it past the keeper. Zero subtlety to his game whatsoever.
His dribbling's the exact same. But we've gone past that. In fact his whole game is based around graft and workmanship quality which he combines with his good technique. A very effective combo.

Aguero needs a few chances to score too. But he's got more tact and variety to his shots and finishing.

Creativity & Intelligence:

The former's a bit close. As a grafter he does see quite a few passes. Unfortunately Downing's constant miscontrols of the passes lets him down. Creativity can go either way.
Intelligence comfortably goes to Aguero.

Pace, balance, strength & other physical qualities:

I'd give each and every single one to Aguero.

All in all, as a footballer, Aguero blows Suarez out the water. A few goals difference won't change that fact.

Probably Sagna

Don't know where this conversation has gone but I wouldn't be too displeased with Suarez instead of Aguero based on ability alone.

I'd have Suarez in my team over Aguero
I'd have Mata over Silva too. Watched Silva closely tonight. He just doesnt get involved enough for me. Prefers to take the easy option and play it safe rather than take on any players in and around the box. That's what I saw of him anyway.

Sorry to force my Silva views on you. Been bugging me all night though.

Silva has gone dead quiet, he had a cracking second season looked like one of the best in the premiership but that form seems to have deserted him. Still a top player but I too would prefer Mata.

Can't believe we paid for Young (I think) half a million less than you paid for Mata... though in fairness that is not always the case with our signings compared.

Mata over Silva here, too.

I think theres little between them ability wise
Suarez being a sneaky tips the balance in favour of Aguero for me.
The ankle stomping, completely unnecessary. How can you treat your fellow pros like that, and how does anyone else on the pitch tolerate such behaviour.

But sometimes a man rises from the darkness. Sometimes the pit sends something back.
