Ending The Streak !

Trying to think of a wrestler worthy enough of ending the most famous streak in Wrestling history is like trying to find a needle in a Giant Haystack (see what i did there?)... Anyway, the fact is, nobody is worthy of such a feat which is why the writers need to be smart about it and I've got the perfect idea.

Please see the list below:

Wrestlemania 7: Undertaker defeated Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka
Wrestlemania 8: Undertaker defeated Jake "The Snake" Roberts
Wrestlemania 9: Undertaker defeated Giant Gonzalez (won by Disqualification)
Wrestlemania 11: Undertaker defeated King Kong Bundy
Wrestlemania 12: Undertaker defeated Diesel
Wrestlemania 13: Undertaker defeated Sycho Sid (WWF Championship No Disqualification Match)
Wrestlemania 14: Undertaker defeated Kane
Wrestlemania 15: Undertaker defeated Big Boss Man (Hell in a Cell)
Wrestlemania 17: Undertaker defeated Triple H
Wrestlemania 18: Undertaker defeated Ric Flair (No Disqualification)
Wrestlemania 19: Undertaker defeated Big Show and A-Train (Handicap Match)
Wrestlemania 20: Undertaker defeated Kane
Wrestlemania 21: Undertaker defeated Randy Orton
Wrestlemania 22: Undertaker defeated Mark Henry (Casket Match)
Wrestlemania 23: Undertaker defeated Batista (World Heavyweight Championship Match)
Wrestlemania 24: Undertaker defeated Edge (World Heavyweight Championship Match)
Wrestlemania 25: Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels
Wrestlemania 26: Undertaker defeated Shawn Michaels (No Count Out, No Disqualification, Streak vs Career Match) *
Wrestlemania 27: Undertaker defeated Triple H (No Holds Barred)
Wrestlemania 28: Undertaker defeated Triple H (Hell in a Cell w/Shawn Michaels
Wrestlemania 29: Undertaker defeated CM Punk

Ok, you get it - there's the streak victims but what about them ?

Well of those men - the following are still alive:

- Jimmy Snuka
- Jake Roberts
- Bundy
- Nash
- Sid Justice
- Kane
- Triple H
- Nature Boy
- Big Show
- A-train
- Orton
- Mark Henry
- Batista
- Edge
- Michaels
- Punk

So.. onto the idea

Have The Undertaker take on a rookie at WM30 in a noDQ match - Someone with a really bright future like A Seth Rollins / Roman Reigns.

Make it look like a routine victory for the Deadman and then enter the 16 remaining men who fell victim to the streak coming out and ending it together and burying Taker

I can see it now: Superfly appearing under the WrestleMania sign at the top of the ramp - Taker just looking to the stage with wide eyes. Jake the Snake shuffles out onto the stage and this is where Michael Coles commentary starts to tell the story:

"Its the first two victims of the streak. What the hell are they doing out here"

Slowly the others come out from behind the curtain. The last two being Triple H and Shawn. They surround the ring and eventually distract the Deadman. Reigns/Rollins tries to attack Taker from behind but Taker turns and hits them with a chokeslam. Taker turns around ... WHAM!!! Sweet Chin. Music.

Shawn (with tears in his eyes) pulls Rollins/Reigns onto Taker for the 3 count!

The Streak which made the legend - kills the Legend

Rest in Peace

The problem u have now, is that the E have pushed this streak to its upmost limit in terms of pallatability. As much as taker is a set in stone legend, human psychi needs new subjective pastures.

The character who ends the streak, would bear a huge weight on their shoulders. (But thats another article)

* new subjective pastures...and this need is an evolutionary thing, so things could get sour.

no no no..

this is all about money. when take can't do it at all and is in a zimmer frame (next year) AND he is desperate for moeny the the big name missing from that list above will come and end the streak.

Once again we're in complete agreement. The streak has been over exposed to the point where ended it for the sake of practicality no longer hinges on the wrestler in question just pinning him anymore (that might've flown with Orton, Batista or Edge but it's not going to now) - which is why i had to continuiously counter your remarks about CM Punk being the best representation of all those who precedded him, when since mid last year all CM Punk has represented is the generic weasel wwe heel template which has been just as destructive to their company as the world champion body scout template.

We're a belligerent bunch the wrestling community, on the internet and elsewhere, whoever takes Undertaker's streak for practical means will have to deal with more pressure than Cena when it comes to being under the microscope. He'll instantly polarise crowds until he proves himself worthy of unifying them (something Cena hasn't managed in 10+ years). That's a big ask on any young star, particuplarly one who hasn't been let off the leash yet which at the present time includes all members of The Shield.

It would be different if someone like Kane beat him, that would divide opinion and be the end of it.

That's why my idea works - no one idividual would end the streak. The fallen would storm the ring (like they did at Rumble 94 in casket match) and in Triple Hs voice "end the streak, once and for alllll"

They should have used the Paul Bearer urn thing to distract the Undertaker during the match and Punk picked up a cheap win. Legacy of the streak would remain and it'd give Punk an opportunity to harp on about how he's 'the best in the world' again.

would it though ? That seems a ludicrous way to end such a feat

Metro, yr idea doesn't work for a complete different reason. Everyone has a different perception of the streaks prestige and merits (part of its excellence i'd say), for me personally the streak is made prestigious in large part due to the names it's amassed - have those very names band together ruins their individual starpower on the list to begin with, making their actions effectively worthless within this scenario.

As i said before on this thread, how insecure does it make them all look? You could pull it off with Kane as his character is almost built on a foundation of sibling jealousy, but the others would just come off as mentally weak for doing it.
