Would you

swap a trophy with top4 position.

I would, if we win FA cup and Europa League and finish 5th.

I will be a very happy man.

8th FA cup will take us on level to Spurs and above Liverpool so why not.

Arsenal and Chelsea, especially Arsenal won't win CL next year anyways so why not concentrate on trophies which really matter for fans.

2 outings at Wembley for FA cup and 1 for LC will definitely heal the pain of missing CL footie.

I think Chelsea with this extra ordinary amount of games must have raked in a lot of gate receipts.

5 top 4
1 trophy

Given the choice i'd consider top 4 to be the greatest victory...... however, if any of the 3 prizes at stake were sacrificed without bloody good cause i'd be very disappointed in Benitez.

I'm very pro keep all our options available as long as we can

My greatest memories as a football fan have been celebrating a trophy win. Not qualifying for champions league. Champions league is great to line the bank account with the prospect of more investment and a better squad. But trophies are trophies. Hugging the sweaty bloke next to you as you win silverware are the things fans will remember forever.

Watching and winning any final is better than getting 4th or 3rd in EPL. Money wise top 4 but memory wise it's got to be watching your team lift a cup. Even if it is the league cup.

2000-01 Lfc won FA cup, league cup, uefa cup, super cup, charity shield.

Qualifying for the champions league and going out in the quarters in 2002 pales in comparison

I be glad to winn both FA Cap resp UEFA Cap and finish outside top 4 tbh...we can deal without CL for one season for sure...we get rid of high earner or avarage players like essien, lampy, ferreira, beni, malouda, torres etc and replace with hungry driving players....we can focus entirly for EPL games and winn EPL next season with jose in charge again...

So nothing to do with winning trophies but being in a fiscally stronger position? Cash> success?

As an Arsenal fan I'd rather get top 4. But I can see why it's different for Chelsea fans. Arsenal need the top four cash to cover operating costs where as chelsea have Roman to cover any losses, so no problem for them.

Absolutely not!

Playing in the CL is integral to the long term growth path of CFC, winning meaningless trophies like the Europa League provide little to no benefit in the long run and if such trophies come at the expense of CL football then it is a total and utter disaster.

Ive been a Chelsea fan long enough to remember when we used to win nothing after 71 there was a long drought when watching other teams at wembley was a real kick in the teeth. It still makes the hairs on my neck raise with the blues fans singing along to Abide with me at wembley. I wouldnt swap that feeling for anything i want a top four finish and two trophies so lets just get it done. No problem!!!

I would take a trophy over top 4 all day long...

being nearly 40 I have had the pleasure of seeing my beloved Arsenal win a fair few things and I have to say its much better than a top 4 finish...

just a few of examples...Mickey T at Anfield to win us the league, Parlour and Freddie at Cardiff to win us the FA cup.... winning the league at OT and WHL... those are days that live in the memory.

Champions league nights (Tues/Wed) are great, but seeing the captain lift a trophy is what its all about...

too many of us are (pretend) accountants nowadays...
