Hi all,
Im an 18 year old, wanting to be a sports journalist, I am currently on a gap year, between college and university, I am using this to gain experience in the field, before i join the University of Bedfordshire to study Sports Journalism.
I have created a blog, to write about the thing i most love in the world, West Ham United.

As a fellow budding Journalist in the exact same position as you (I'm going to falmouth to study journalism) I would recommend publishing as many blogs as possible.

Study English rather than Sports Journalism.
This is a serious comment and not meant to be flippant.
The competition is fierce the better the University the more serious the degree the greater your chance of getting an opportunity.
Write articles and send them to your local newspaper. Writing is the key, rather than knowledge of journalism itself.
