To Bayern. A Barcelona team, mostly consisting of youngsters, comfortably beat Real Zaragoza. some of the youngsters produced stand out performances in the match particularly Tello and Thiago were on another level. Bartra, Montoya also played well so Bayern Munich, watch out.
. one negative, though, was, Cesc's continual underwhelming performances. i begin to realise now that Cesc , as good a player as he is, isn't quite the same level as Barcelona. i hope he lifts his game and when Xavi becomes a squad player due to the age factor, becomes an able heir of his throne.
Thanks

Disagree, it pains me to see him being played as a false 9., it's not his position. He's a facking midfielder, what is Barca's obsession with trying to play midfielders in every position. He's not a Xavi type either, he's an attacking no.8/10 and is one of the best in the world when played there.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I seen him play in his preferred position where he used to play for Arsenal, trust me he was even worse than playing as false no. 9.
his first touch, his short passing and ability to meanouver in the tight spaces was far below par as compared to other Barca players such as Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Dani Alves.

I've seen a lot of drivel posted over the past few months. But this one is just special.
Thiago performs better than Cesc in their system. Is he superior to Cesc?
Cesc is easily that level. They just don't utilise him properly.

Thats the probe. he might destroy Mallorca or Granada( even if he doesn't, Barca will still win those games easily) but would be completely invisible against Milans/ Madrids or PSGs. this is not good enough for Barca

Hes not an Arsenal player anymore, to start with so get over it you kid.
Thiago is, by no means, the finished article. sometimes he annoys me, clearly not good enough for a starting place as yet but hes got time on his side, hes 5 years younger than Cesc plus we didnt pay 30 million to buy him.
Cesc im afraid isnt good enough for Barca's level. hes got all his work stil ahead of him to prove his worth.n hes been given ample time and enough many opportunities on the field. he hasnt proven his worth yet.

Silk perhaps you'd like to engage in some serious discussion without trading insults.
If so, here goes:
The style Barça have implemented has been constructed around Xavi's uncanny skills for retaining possession and making the right choices.
However, he's a once in a lifetime player; I don't think there's a like-for-like replacement for him in world football, let alone Barça.
Therefore, I think the time is fast approaching when Barça need to rethink their approach; modify it somewhat.
Their pressing game has dropped off in comparison to a couple of seasons ago. This imo is the key factor to the success of their possession-based game. They don't seem to me to recover the ball deep in the opponent's half as they used to, and their opponents find it easier to play the ball out. This is very dangerous due to how high they play.
While Thiago's very gifted technically, I disagree that Cesc's not Barça quality. Thiago's still got some way to mature and I don't think his decision-making is reliable enough to ensure possession is kept as well as necessary. Although Cesc's also prone at times to misplacing passes that create his own team a lot of trouble, his greater experience could help in that sense.
Either way, both Thiago and Cesc are more direct players than Xavi, so when Xavi begins his ride off into the sunset, Barça will have to adopt a more direct game and look to finish off a lot more of their attacks with a shot to reduce the possibility of opponents hitting them on the break.
My 2p.
P.S. Barça will need to be at their very best to defeat Bayern. I don't think the kids have the game or experience to stand in their way.

So why post it on the Arsenal board?
Cesc has been at our club for years. So if anything we know what he's capable of.
Obviously, you haven't seen much of him if you don't think he's Barca class.
"Cesc im afraid isnt good enough for Barca's level. hes got all his work stil ahead of him to prove his worth.n hes been given ample time and enough many opportunities on the field. he hasnt proven his worth yet."
What do you based that on? Him not dribbling and taking on the whole team? Nice flicks and tricks?
Cesc is most definitely good enough, technically and certainly mentally.
It's just Barca that are wasting him, just like they're wasting Sanches and Villa.
