Afternoon football fans. Cracking day for drying the washing isn't it.
Anyway, copied United board into this thread as they have some of the best posters on the site. Always up for a debate too
Now call me a loser but I often watch the likes of 'Question Time' and Nicky Campbells 'The Big Questions'. It's amazing to see such diverse views on the hot topics.
Saturday morning on 'The Big Questions' started off with a discussion on Thatchers death being celebrated in certain parts of the country and it really was intriguing to hear from the likes of MPs, ex-military, poets, vicars etc.
So I guess I'll put the same issue to yourselves. Are people who celebrated her death perfectly within their right to do so or should we, as human beings be more respective?
The fact that the Hillsborough anniversary was so close must have been difficult for the families. I can't imagine what they think about the expenses of her funeral.
what are you views on celebrating a death ? Can we really put Thatcher alongside the likes of Stalin, Hitler and Pol Pot ?

It started off fairly sensibly, ish too. I accept no blame for the outcome of the thread.

Is she like some mad witch woman, who ends up getting her funeral paid for by the reluctant taxpayer?

If Flash is anything to go by, she wouldn't be getting a funeral

On the other Margaret Thtacher thread last week some people here were defending the use of attacks like those in Boston last night as there only means of retaliation against a superior military might. Can someone please now explaon to me how an attack hat has killed civilians - including an 8 year old boy - and injured hundreds, including over 30 who have lost limbs, can be justified as a military retaliation?
.......................................................
I don't think the West's attacks can be justified or the terrorists responses.
How can you justify killing people in response to killing people is what you are asking though I guess.
The answer is I don't know how you can, but should this be Al Qaeda the west will go out and kill some people, then Al Qaeda will go out and kill some people and so the cycle continues..
I guess the problem a lot of people have with me is that I am not cheering on either side.
What can I say, it is hard to justify killing people.
