The rumors about Schurrle continue, with a lot of detail, probably signifying that our interest in the player is genuine and serious.*

However, given our surplus of players in Schurrle's position, I was wondering how the look of our team would change if Schurrle were purchased. I'm sure we'd play him in a wide attacking role, so there are implications for a lot of players.
-Will Oscar be moved to a more central role, or will he essentially be given a bench role, and told to fight for his place?
-Mata and Hazard will still safely be considered first team regulars.
-Will Moses have less opportunities?
-Will KDB be sent off on another loan, or will he come back to Chelsea, finding a pretty tough battle for a regular starting place?
-Will Piazon become surplus to our requirements, or will he simply be sent on loan for another season?
-Will Ramires essentially be locked out of the AM positions?
-Marin will be gone from the team.
I'm thinking that if we do get Schurrle, Oscar will be made a utility player who is shifted between the pivot and a more advanced role (similar to Ramires at present). We may get another central mid, which will make it even more difficult for Oscar to get minutes. If we don't get another central mid, it's going to be a pretty strong signal of commitment to the 4-2-3-1 formation, as we will have tremendous depth in AM.
How do you think Schurrle will impact the team's tactics, formation, etc? Is he really necessary/does it make sense to shell out a significant amount of cash for him? Are there better alternatives (the Hulk rumors have started up again)?
How would Schurrle impact the team?

Arjen Robben - a bit of a digression, but what's going on with your namesake this season? Injuries again, dejection after losing out on the CL, or something else? Doesn't appear to be the same force he was the previous season.

De Bruyne is apparently subject of a bid by Dortmund, i really would rather he stayed.
Regarding Schurrle i think he is a much better versatile option than Hulk, as he would offer more years of service and a better work rate. Consistency wins you titles and Hulk does not appear to offer that - we have enough payers capable of magic we need some workhorses and enforcers now

although preferably i'd want Reus, but he has only been at Dortmund for a season and also we would not be favourites if he were to move

Moses is still very young and raw, in many ways he reminds me of a slightly older version of Lukaku
Both have the physical prowess and power that could help them become great players...............only time will tell if they can develop

Schurrle would engender a much needed physical presence (which we clearly lacked agaisnt Man City), and is also a very capable goalscorer. I could envisage him giving a team such as Arsenal all sorts of problems.

Schuerrle's main strength is shooting from distance. I guess that's the reason why Abramovich wants to buy him.
