We need to score first

I know it stating the obvious but the fact that we have been behind in our last six games is one of the main reasons we have had such a dip in form. At home we have won every game (I think) in which we got the first goal and we haven't lost away. When we concede first it gives the opposition the chance to sit back and keep us at arms length, this has happened in each of our last six games except for Hull, who were flying at the time, and Cardiff who were never going to sit back at home against ten men.
Without pace it is always a struggle to get behind teams, especially when they defend deep, to create things for the strikers. Billy realised this as soon as he came in and built a team in which the forwards held the ball up for the midfielders to get shots in from around the edge of the area, this obviously worked to start with but most of the opposition put out teams to counter this.
I am certain that if we had scored the opening goal in our last five games we'd have beaten Brighton, Blackpool, Burnley and Boro and maybe even Cardiff as they would have been forced to play into our hands by having to attack. The most disappointing thing is that in each of these games we were on top before the opponents scored but failed to capitalise.
