End of August, predictions.

Just wondering how everyone is thinking we will have fared come the end of August, with a couple of tough games, especially with 2 against some of our closest rivals, it's going to be tough, but if we get a good start, there will surely be no stopping us (I hope)! Here are my predictions;

Sat 6 Aug Coventry 1-2 Leicester
Tue 9 Aug Rotherham 0-3 Leicester
Sat 13 Aug Leicester 1-1 Reading
Wed 17 Aug Leicester 2-0 Bristol City
Sat 20 Aug Forest 1-1 Leicester
Sat 27 Aug Leicester 2-1 Southampton

That would be 11 points from a possible 15, should set us well on the way!

We look good on paper but anything could happen. No-one should assume we are going to walk this league. It could take until Christmas for our team to settle as we have so many new players. Everyone should be cautious and if success comes quickly, it will be a pleasant bonus. Too much optimism comes across as arrogance.

longtimefox is spot on

i think we will do very well but I still think it will take 10 games before we gel and start to motor up table

we need to be patient and it will come good

Apart the Rotherham game is in the cup, so 11 from 15 is correct.

The same people who are making ridiculously optimistic forecasts of the points "we shall have" in the early games will be screaming for Sven to be sacked if the tally is zero after four or five matches. Be realistic. This is a new team so let the players settle and be prepared for a less-than-perfect start. Anything else is bonus.

I'm ever the optimist, perhaps that is why I'm feeling so confident. If we do have a terrible start,I will be more than happy to give the team time gel.

If we so much as draw a game this season I will rip up my season ticket and throw my shirt on the pitch in disgust. After all the money we have spent I demand that we win every game with minimal effort. I want to see us finish first in the Championship, get to the semi finals of the Carling Cup and the quarter finals of the FA Cup. Anything less than that will deemed a failure and I will ecpect Eriksson to get sacked and be replaced by either Jose Mourinho or Sir Alex Ferguson.

U8089, I fear you are in for a tough season. This will not be an easy season. The team has to bind together for a start and there are some good teams in the Championship.
Last year away to Derby we were all over them in the first half. They changed tactics at half time and shut us down. I hope for a good season but it will not be easy.

I'd take those 11 points for sure. I think it's going to be tough though - all the other teams will want to "Put one over" on the big spenders.

I agree with the sentiment of being cautious, having low expectations and remaining calm, but if we had no points after 5 matches we would already be significantly behind - potentially 15 points adrift! If we get no points in our first 5 games I think we will have no choice but to be depressed!

I think it will go something like this:

Sat 6 Aug Coventry 0-0 Leicester
Tue 9 Aug Rotherham 1-2 Leicester
Sat 13 Aug Leicester 2-1 Reading
Wed 17 Aug Leicester 2-0 Bristol City
Sat 20 Aug Forest 0-1 Leicester
Sat 27 Aug Leicester 2-2 Southampton

We could potentially lose every one of those games of course, but potentially we could win all of them as well. I don't think it's crazy to think we could go unbeaten in the first 5 league matches.
