Youth and Adam Le Fondre

I have been reading alot of the debates for sometime now and most have some really good points.

I wanted to pitch in with someone. YOUTH. We have Lascelles and Freeman (arguably the two most obvious coming through and being talked about)

My thought here is: If your good enough your old enough.

Look at some examples: Rooney, made his debut at 16, Theo Walcott aged 16 when he played for Southampton, Gareth Bale another example.
Granted not every England under 21 player is a first team player for their clubs and go out on loan etc, but most are...such as Gibbs, Mulumba (at Bolton) Rodwell

At Forest we had Dawson playing at 19 (even our captain?)

My point here is why dont we start with Freeman at Left back, he clearly is rated highly and is in the Wales Under 19's...if he is good enough start him....he no doubt will be able to handle the pressure.

Lascelles, a player that reportadly was touted by Arsenal, this means he has talent, get him on the bench give him the experience.

We do need new players yes of course but we have some of the answers in our ranks (unless they are genuinely not good enough should we retain them - like Rodney)

This then allows us to sign a player who I cant believe we arent looking at...

Adam Le Fondre, his goalscoring record is outstanding and Sheffield Wednesday have offered 300k for him. they want alot more and so they should.

Yes he is a risk, but we paid 1 million for Mcgoldrick who had a terrible scoring record. surely 1 million for him would be a steal.

I know people are going to say he is unproven at this level, so was Ian Wright, so was Beckford but he went on to score goals at Premiership level, Ricky Lambert will score goals for Southampton this year its what he does.

West Ham are in talks with Forsell and have put a 5.5 million bid in for NGOG, showing intent? we arent at the moment.

Do I think we have a good team yes, can it be improved DEFINATELY.

Derby Dan, its not a grammar contest, thanks for your input though really appreciated. I think if I had more time on my hands like you do to read all of your fans comments I would. Oh actually I wouldnt I am not that sad. Enjoy your day off.

Aladdin,

Your right about BD's tactics it could open up more with Mcclaren and last year we didnt have the wand of Reid.

Without trying the youth we will never know. If they make mistakes they learn from it. Just like we did when we first started at work, we improved but only by doing it regulary. If I kept making mistakes at my job I would be taken off the task - same with them...If I excell at it everyone is happy.

Like I say if they are good enough they are old enough

Like 'dessy walker', I think a move for Le Fondre could be prudent. Voiced this opinion a few days ago - surely would be more prolific than our present 'strikers'.

Findley, as far as I know is not an out and out prolific striker. Once Blackstock (our one real quality striker) returns, we need someone to be able to feed off him.

I really think a striker is higher on our 'required list' than a left back.

On another tangent, what happened with our pursuit of the Dutch winger? Thought we had gone in for him again. Did our usual tardiness let others (Fulham) stride in?

Lets be honest we need a few positions filled!

Striker
Winger
Left Back

I would say them 3 at very least, which is more important is up for debate!

Like I said I think we will score more goals, just because of tactics.

As for the kids, yeah why not, give 'em a crack, but when were playing leadue one football next season!

LOL

Hopefully that's only a joke, but if they don't perform we haven't really got a plan B have we.

Striker and centre half is what I want us to get first.

The only thing about a centre half first, is surely they wouldn't go straight into the first team, over Chambers & Morgan, not saying we don;t need one BTW!

Suppose it depends who it was too, although I can;t see us getting a big name in!

A striker or winger may get into the first team straight away!

And as for Left back, well enuff said!

LOL

Agreed Aladdin, this is kind of my point, dont get me wrong I would love another centre half but unless they want to drop one of the two we already have then Gardner may not be a bad back up with Lascelle learning from them all and playing in the cup games?

I think we need a winger and striker. I think left back should be Freeman (and I have never seen him play in the flesh) but this goes back to my comment if he is good enough he is old enough.

LOL

Thanks dessy, not used to people agreeing with me!

I think Cohen will be playing at LB, unless we get a loanee in!

Then we got Gunter, Lynch & Freeman who can play there!

I do think our strikers will appear to be better than last season though, so I'm wiling to give them a go, like u say about the kids!

Just if in 2 months, it ain't working with both, we could be in trouble!

I'm not a negative person, but People must think I'm a right pessamitic miserable so n so!

LOL

I am excited and think we might be alright, just niggles me!

Sounds like I am ar*e licking here but I think your dead right. where is our plan b.

The only thing I dont agree with is playing Gunter left back, its a complete waste of one of the best right backs in the division and he doesnt really look comfortable with it.

What I couldnt understand is why we didnt play Maloney left back in the play offs, I know people wont agree with me, but in affect we had two new players in the team by moving Gunter to left back. The solidness that we built up with Wes knowing Gunter was there was lost. Whatever we had to do we needed to bring a left back in, suddenly it throws the sync out. There is a reason why we had the best back 5 (for a while anyway) in the division, it was unchanged and everyone knew their positions and roles to play.
