What's the big deal? We were never going to sign him - Wenger said last week, quite clearly that we weren't after signing an LB.

^^^ i know, lol. Do you think if the big clubs in europe sold there LB they'd integrate youth. Nope look at real signed contreao from benfica they have marcelo. If united sold evra, chelsea cole they would buy. This youth policy is killing the team but more important increasing club owners coffers.

Sorry guys my bad, if we had signed him he would have killed Gibbs.... We dont know need him... Now how are Bedndter and Denilson doing??

The big deal is that we will be exposed on that left flank again because Wenger has refused to buy a defensively sound left back.

Gibbs is excellent at going forward and attacking, but defensively, he is extremely poor. I have a feeling this won't be a good season, with the severe lack of defensive acquisitions.

Enrique was probably the best left-back last season, better defensively than baines.

Arguably the most consistent one last season, he is so assured in defending and so much more solid than Baines. Baines is better going forward though.

It doesnt matter as we all know they are both much better than GIbbs, can 't you guys understand that, are you stupid!!!

i rate schmelzer from dortmund as one of the best LBs in the world. Guy has a tremendous workrate, can actually defend. Doesnt do a clichy attack lose the ball & stand still, schmelzer actually runs back & fights for the possession back.

You guys are overrating enrique so much! I live in newcasstle and go to all the games as my dads side of the family are newcastle supporters and he has a season ticket.

Enrique is not sound defensivly, he often gives the ball away and his speed is the only thing that saves him. He is very skillfull and takes risks when playing the ball out which is why he has drawn a lot of attention. He is definatly not better than Baines.
We should look outside the EPL for another left back

Now I am not happy.
