Many sources saying that our bid has been submitted now:

What do you think Reading will say to 7.5 million?

Massive arsenal

As has been stated McDermott says no bid's been made. If we do sell Long to any Championship team we may lose McDermott as well as I can't see him wanting to work for a chairman who undermines him like that.

Biscuitbeale is sounding a bit rattled....

No disrespect meant, but would Shane Long want to go to Leicester? He has suggested he'd be interested in West Ham.
In any case, £6m+ does seem a lot of money for a Championship player. Is it any wonder why clubs prefer to sign foreign players, who represent far more value for money?

"No disrespect meant, but would Shane Long want to go to Leicester?"

Do you really expect any other answer than "yes" from Leicester fans?

A few weeks ago, I wouldn't have thought Matt Mills would have chosen City over a Premiership offer.

£6m is indeed a lot of money, presumably both West Ham and Leicester feel he is worth this amount of money - I guess only time will tell.

If I were a Hammers fan, I should probably make the point that myhammers makes here - it's not unreasonable, on the face of it.

As Foxes fan I will reply that Long might prefer to join a club where exciting and sizeable new investments are being made in the squad, in the ground, and in the club generally; a club which (heaven willing) is in the ascendent; and a club with a manager who wants his team to play clever and attractive football. Rather than a newly-relegated club which is shedding its stars and has appointed a manager known to favour a style of football which makes shove-ha'penny look sophisticated.

But we will see. I have to agree with myhammers that spending such a sum on Long would be quite a gamble for either club. But then the stakes are very high.....

myhammers, what a stupid comment, the same could be said for you 'why would shane long want to go to west ham' ... however, looking at our recent signings, it looks like decent players are wanting to come to leicester.

gloria, as much as it pains me, I decided I'll have to sit out of this one, tickets for me and my mate would be £44 plus £25 fuel each way, makes it about £50 each and it's a week before pay day so I'm skint, and I've got a tough pre season friendly against Burnley on Sunday... truly gutted, but I'm praying a decent stream will be available. I'll be going to forest away though definately

Last night you were, apparently, close to completing the deal but it now seems to have gone quiet and now Sven is saying he thinks you'll lose out to a Prem team.

Blackpool Fox: You obviously haven't properly read what I posted. I asked 'would' he want to go to Leicester, as opposed to 'why'.
He has suggested he would want to go to West Ham.
