Blaming Megson is a bit strong

Everyone's frustrated that we haven't signed any forwards this week, but there are more than a handful of posts basically (or actually) telling Megson to 'get his finger out and sign a striker or two!'

Sorry?

You think Mandaric has said, here you go Meggy Moo, you've got 500k to a mil left to spend on whoever you want, and Megson is the one nudging the offer for ALF up by pence at a time?

Mandaric and Paul Aldridge are ensuring our financial stability for years to come, and I for one am extremely grateful. Don't get me wrong, I know its the wage bill that would bring us down to those financial despair depths again, not transfer fees, but if we match every tinpot (no offence) clubs valuation straight off the bat we will be taken for a ride till the cows come home.

I really, really, really want a 20 goal striker and ALF seems to fit the bill, but would the same people screaming for Meggy to 'splash the cash' be so happy had he done it outright and then see the signing fail or get injured. Yes, I think he was too sure Mellor would rejoin, but I don't think its all Megson's fault.

Who says we need a striker anyway! This season Wednesday will score more goals from set pieces than ever before

No, its definitely Megson's fault and JOC's.

You should know that by now

We've got a striker that got 19 last year. And playing in a side with a bit of confidence he will get 25

alf...would be out of his league...we had a good look at him and refused..he has been in that division for some time for a good reason..

So do I, no way is it Meggy Moo's fault, its that damn Lepricaun JOC's fault, for everything .

Seriously though I think Meggy has tried his best to get the best strikers in but I kinda dont blame him for not wanting to spend over the odds, like someone has said, even if we do only start with two strikers at least we have plenty of hight to score from set pieces, plus C Morrsion really needs to get his finger out his arris this season if he wants to stay coz Meggy Moo wont put up with any inconsistancy

Personally, I blame Megson.

The fact that by October he won't be in a position to be blamed anymore keeps me going!

I wioll only worry if Modest is on the bench. I mean it won't matter too much if we get Le Fondre on Friday, I mean Peter Odemwingie only joined West Brom on the day before the season started and he didn't do too badly.

Why will you worry if Modest is on the bench?

Cos he didn't score for Darlington, so doubt he could make much of an impact in League 1! We need to get the other strikers so we can loan him out again, with Cecil Nyoni!
