Gents (meaning everyone I know in Brazil)
as an Honorary supporters of Doncaster Rovers (for free), here is an update.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is the last day of the season. Doncaster are in second place, on 81 points, they are playing Brentford who are on 79 points. The top team Bournmouth are already promoted, so only one more team can get automatic promotion, it can only be either Doncaster or Brentford. If Donny draw or win they go up. Brentford have to win to go up.
The game is at Brentford, so Donny are the away team. However, Donny have the best away record this season, in the whole of the 4 divisions, they have won almost every away game. The problem is, that Brentford have the best home record in League 1. If you feed the stats into a supercomputer, the result is a win for Doncaster 1,254,345,112 - 1,254,345,113 with 0-1 at half time. Can't actually prove that.
Recap' Donny need to draw or win. if they lose, it is the playoffs. If we do lose, and have to go to the play offs, there will be three live Donny matches on telly in Brasil if in fact we get to the final (otherwise it is 2 live games according to the math)
Sorry, just re-read this drivel, and to make it clear to Brentford supporters I live in Brasil, a long way from home, and the vodka bottle level, as far as I can see has dropped drastically since late afternoon.
Hope Donny win, but best of luck to Brentford as well (mais ou menos)
Best Regards

I have had to get back from holiday a day early for this game. If all goes well at home I plan to leave for the game at 1 and should be getting parked at 1.30, yes a home game for me. I used to work down the road from this ground and they gave me free access to home games if I brought my fire engine with me. Strange to relate I had little interest in Brentford so I let my mate, a Brentford supporter, take my place.
This is one hell of a difficult game today and I can see 1 goal either way being the decider. I just hope Brentford have got their goal nets repaired as I still remember the goal we got which went straight through the net.

Small worl Alex. Bet they did not want my Police Car. I too have a story to tell about Brentford but it was at home. I was going to be arrested for beating up a Brentford Van after getting out of a Police Van... Donny won 4 -0 got promotion. The discipline boys were not happy because I was in Belgium playing football for The Prison Service as a guest with two other Bobbies, not happy when I offered them my passport....Yep Police do arrest other Police for the disbelievers.
Smaller still - Norm went to the game last week with your cousin Bri - he and wife "L" used to live directly accross the road from me, he still plays golf with my neighbour (Game with Hound perhaps?) and they socialise with my neighbour and wife...Blooming Spell Check and Yanks ugh.......
Small worl indeed. Before anyone says it, no they did not move because I moved in, there are sadder reasons

Small world in deed Bally.
I think that must be one of the first games of Football Brian has ever been to and you are right there is a very tragic period they went through.
I will meet up with Norm at the ground and hope to keep him calm because of his triple bypass and his recent implant of stents.
I am really looking forward to this game and what will be will be life goes on, with a bit of luck.
