The split and admin

Just a quick question wondering if someone knows the answer to this. Using Dundee United as an example as I know more about their money worries than any other team. Now the split has happened and the league is locked into the top and 6 and bottom six what would happen if Dundee United now went into admin? They can get the points deduction but it wouldnt matter as they would go no lower than 6th anyway. Would the deduction be kept in waiting for the next season (on the basis they where out of admin before season end). Not something i want to happen just a what if situation.

It would be added to current points total. Based on last season 59pts total you would be deucted 1/3rd = 20pts.

This would put you on 24pts now in the relegation spot and 5pts adrift of Dundee

From what I've read, a top6 team cannot finish any lower than 6th place.

Hope it doesn't happen.

I believe that the points deduction would be held until the end of the season. If it was the lowest of the 12, then that team WOULD be relegated.

Davie, a bottom 6 team cannot finish the season in a higher position than 7th place.

No matter what you berz want to believe.

I think it'd be a similar situation to if a team was already relegated - it'd apply at the start of the next season.
That's what's happened with Portsmouth anyway - they were already down last season so the 10 points wasn't a punishment, so they applied it this season and were relegated again (would have stayed up but for the -10 points).
