The boys did well yesterday, how about these reports coming from Qatar Royal Family, couldn't hurt us being a bit more competitive in the transfer market, and it might be just the ticket to getting back C.L places.
The deal seems to be brewing, so what you guys think, and how much are we talking about here?
"The goal was to sponsor a big English club with a huge history, our search included Arsenal and Manchester United but the former two have long sponsorship deals and the same applies to Manchester City, so Liverpool is the only club available right now.
“We want to sponsor the club in full. We want to sponsor the Stadium as well as the club’s kits.
“Our goal is to reach the Asian markets where the Premier League has an enormous fan base.
“We received the tender from the club a few days ago and we are currently in the process of due diligence and we are studying each aspect of the study.
“It is a dual interest, Liverpool needs the money to compete with the European heavyweights and we want to expand our brand to reach new markets via football."

Well, Hector, it did help City, it did help Chelsea, and it does help Manu and the rest of Europe's big leaguers. We want to compete in having the world's best talent and that takes money, a lot of it actually. Let's say we want Eriksen from Ajax, now, it seems he's chosen City, but with that scenario, we might be able to compete, sorry, but a lot of it is about money, and I think we've earned it.

Come on now, C.L isn't the same without those glorious Anfield european nights

What actually went wrong 20 odd years ago we became sluggish and lazy with our finances, as at the same time Manu was expanding rigorously, and we never caught up with that, I say now's the time!

This Hector is a right tool. He comes on thinking he's a master wum, gets shot down so slinks away to think of something else, gets shot down again, and is currently smashing up his Glaswegian high rise council flat in frustration....

Ive always wondered why teams don't let the roof of the stadium for sponsorship, watching the game yesterday we saw perhaps 5 aerial shots of St James park?
ever been to look at any stadiums on Google earth etc?
Sure it wouldn't generate as much as a kit deal, but these companies pay silly money for a small bit of exposure, get all 4 roofs sponsored and that's probably one Coutinho per year :D

I don't count Chelsea or Man City as something to measure yourself by, fly-by-nights that will eventually become Blackburn.
I remember Liverpool in their pomp, leaders all over the place, a Gerrard or Carragher in every position, not any more, I don't recognize half the players you have now and only really Suarez, Torres and Alonso stand out as exceptional for all the money you've spent on foreign talent.
I'm not comparing you to my club, but we have unearthed a few gems for relative buttons (Wanyama for £800,000) LFC should stop trying to be Man Utd and get back to bringing them through the ranks, spend the money on scouts and coaches, get the best.
Like you used to.

It's not talk of selling the club, rather a bumper sponsorship deal.
Don't forget the Qataris have the World Cup in a few years and will be looking for as much exposure to football as possible.

Hector.....thats what we are doing.
BR has already stated he wants to bring through the youth and he has.
Sterling..Suso..Wisdom..Robinson..Kelly to name a few, plus coady and jerome have been with the squad as well. Sturridge and coutinho both young and have already proved their quality while lfc have this season revamped the coaching set up.
In short LFC are doing exactly what you are saying, but one more point; lfc never really brought the youth through, we just bought the best players......and we cant afford it now.
