This years playoff chase has definitely have had some excitement to it.
That it seems that those teams in the playoffs have had terrible form and some teams who have put in good runs have got in (bolton) and some have missed out (charlton). Even at the top of the table, hulls comfortable lead has been bottled and there is now only a point in it, with hull at home to cardif and watford away to leeds, so both could be likely contenders for autos.
For the playoffs, if palace were to lose against millwall then there'd only a point between them and forest going into the final game. If bolton match us, palace could be the ones to drop out instead if they fail to get more than one point. With palace playing millwall and peterboro, both on the verge of relegation, what are the chances of them getting more than a point from both encounters? Not exactly too high with their current form.
On the flip side, bolton have a decision to make with the ever influential craig dawson returning to parent club, WBA. Winning 62.5% of games with dawson, and only 27.3% without (or atleast thats what vital says...) along with midfielder jay spearing returning to liverpool, bolton may not be at full strength on the final day. With blackpool having nothing to play for, they might throw caution to the wind and go at bolton. Its not impossible for them to get a point.
Forest on the otherhand have no outstanding injuries. A win against millwall has taken pressure off and keeps them in contention. With a sold out city ground they host leicster who could just as easily sneak in, given they win and bolton fluff it up. As long as we beat what boltons offering there's no extra maths involved, but a bolton win would mean palace would have to reap only 1 point in two games.
Neither is improbable. There is a serious chance, given we win saturday, we'll be in the playoffs.
Its all a bit tastey, isnt it?

well its on 5liveextra radio, so ill definitely be having that on where ever i am. Its not world ending if palace get a result, but it puts the pressure on palace as well as bolton.
....one of them has got to bottle it....surely

7-3 you say... where have I heard that before...
I didn't know that an extra game was a possibility, kind of makes a mockery of the league system. Still, it would need extraordinary circumstances for that to ever happen.

... so if two teams had identical records in 1st and second place in the Premier League, would the FA have a one off decider at Wembley?

DID YOU KNOW:
If Bolton win 1-0 and Forest win 7-3, it would mean we have same goal difference, goals scored and head to head, forcing a playoff at a neutral venue. Long shot I know but I found it interesting

Yeah talk about a massive game for you lot. Local derby on the last game of the season with both teams going for the play-offs, probably a good thing its an early kick-off! Hate to say it though but I can't see Bolton slipping up against Blackpool personally.

Or if Palace draw 0-0 the next two matches, Bolton win 3-1 and Forest win (err...) 9-4, then all three teams will be on 70 pts, +10 GD and 70 GS. However Palace have beaten Bolton once, but all the other 5 matches ended in a draw.
