If celtic are sitting in 26th position (thanks to the champions league 3rd round drop outs landing the top 15 places) and the top 35 teams get seeded in the europa league playoff round.

does that mean that 9 teams need to qualify from the 3rd round with a higher co efficiant to push celtic out of the seeded teams?.
if thats the case only:

can actually beat us so the worst we can place is 29th and therefore we will be seeded in the next round.
so am i talking out my a**e or is my understanding of the situation correct?.

rangers have a higher co efficiant so will go in on one of the 15 places set aside for the chapions league drop outs. These dont affect celtic unless someone drops in from the champions league 3rd round with a lower co-efficiant than Celtic. if that happens celtics position is even stronger as they will go up rather than down the rankings of the teams that are left.

so theoretically we should be between the 14th and 17th highest ranked team in the europa play off round.
meaning we should be seeded in the play off but there could be 10 teams come in from the champs league with a higher co efficiant by the time we go for the europa league group stages draw.
this means we could be 27th out of 48 so we need at least 3 teams with lower co efficiants than us to get through in order to be seeded in the group stage draw.
so not counting any chickens!!!!!!
