Huge GTA 5 preview

Chris, as that article says, it does have big missions which take planning in advance. So much more realistic. It's the small things that make a game good, and by sounds of it they've improved a lot on them.

To be honest, would rather they invested more time making the missions and open world more fun and challenging

I agree with that, but by the looks of a lot of the trailers they have made the missions more exciting. The main problem with IV was that they were so mundane and repetitive that you could anticipate what you're going to be doing before you even start the mission.
I like the idea of the random encounters though, it worked really well on Red Dead so hopefully it's a lot like that.

Pay N Sprays now double up as mod shops, and your cars can be given paint jobs, new wheels, window tints, grilles, spoilers, plus you can upgrade suspensions, engine and brakes - handy if you've pinpointed, say, an Infernus that you think could be a useful getaway vehicle.
Saints Row has been doing this forever.

I think GTA5 is going to be a bit better than GTA3. Besides, most game series are similar, hence series, it's not going to suddenly become a sports game (even though this one has golf and tennis), or a racing game (again GTA has that anyway).
