Why did United not bid for Aguero?

One of the best young talents available, yet United let him go to their rivals, why is that? United have money to spend according to Gill, so why no bid? No wum, just curious!

the one other day was a hilarious backfire.
making an article ranting about utd fans making articles about other teams, and yet he makes articles about other teams every day!

Its not a priority position for United.
Much more disapointing was the failure to get Van der Vaart last year at the same price they paid for Bebe !!!

There is an important factor as to why United didn't sign Aguero and its surprising that City seem to have foregone this to 'get their man'.

Whilst an exceptional talent, it's well known in footballing circles that Aguero has a penchant for model railways. In fact it was a deciding factor in him wanting to come to England, the spiritual home of the railway.

As all United fans know, our very own Ji Sung Park is a huge model railway fan, drawing inspiration from the great technical trains of South Korea and the surrounding Asian continent.

Normally, under these circumstances Aguero would make a great acquisition, and friend for Ji, but there is a problem.

Park is progressive, holding a fervent love of fast, modern trains. On the other hand, Aquero is a traditionalist, still lost in the schoolboy romanticism of the steam train. There union would have been a train wreck. (excuse the pun!)

In conclusion, it was obvious to everyone that Aguero could not join United. It remains to be seen how Aguero will get on with ‘Mr Monorail’, Balotelli.

I didn't know that about Aguero. I expect him to spend many hours in Stockport admiring the amazing viaduct. It must have been the deciding factor.

Probably because we don't want to pay £200k a week for someone that will get "homesick" once they have filled their pockets

Why would we go and spend all that money when we already have a shed load of forwards and when it is the CM that needs most attention. Bit of a daft post really BillyBob.

I think it is fair to say if United had bid for him as well he would have opted for United over City, but we didnt really need him, so he had no choice but to join the lesser Manchester club.
