It has been discussed in many quarters that we lack knowledgeable football people in the club who can take us in the right direction. I think someone like Shebby Singh would make a great DOF for us. He knows his stuff and could assist Deano on the coaching side too. He also could interact well with the Punjabi Wolves and the local Asian community and get our crowds up. Everytime I see him in the media he really seems clued up on everything about the beautiful game and he could make a major contribution to taking us to even greater heights. The only thing is that he's on 400k a year and I don't know how much it would take to buy out his contract at Blackburn Rovers. Come on Morgan and Moxey get your chequebook out. This is the most important investment we will make. We need direction and leadership and SS is the man to provide it.

So about a quarter of the cost of keeping Moxey...interesting.
But if he's any good...why are Blackburn so bad?

£400,000 a year seems ludicrous for a director at a club that has been relegated from the prem and then spent the next season being embarrassed week after week, on the pitch and in the media. even worse when you think of the messing around and idiotic decisions made regarding managers.
oh, hang on, it was £500,000 that moxey picked up this season, not £400,000. shebby singh would have saved us £100,000 and Blackburn at least stopped up.

normally i would say its an overinflated bullsh@t position, but given the fools running our club then it may well just be a good idea.

Shabby Singh.
He has the right credentials to joing Wolves. But, we already had one SS so we really need to move on.
Terry Thomas would be the obvious choice. TT as I like to call him would ally us to a better class of fan. We really need to get away from the "working class", limited-income fans who are just interested in getting a rebate on their Season Tickets and focus more on a wealthier model. Terry would do this for us and wouldn't want a kings-ransome for doing so.
As he died in 1980, a posy of flowers on his grave every few weeks would suffice. And for those of you who are worried that a dead man couldn't offer the practical advice that Morgan requires; could Terry really do a worse job than Jez?
Yes, Terry Thomas would be my choice for Director of Football and we all know that he has great sporting credentials:

I beg to differ, Willy Wonka is much more suitable with the added advantage of sharing our clubs initials.

Not a bad wind-up that (assuming, actually hoping, it is one).
Almost seems like one or two Wolves fans are treating it as a serious proposition though. In case thats the case, Shebby Singh is the biggest clown in football.
His managerial targets after Kean got sacked were Tim Sherwood, Billy McKinlay and Henning Berg. All complete novices who's common link was they used to play for the club and they'd take orders from him. His contribution to the club since hiring Berg (a manager who took 6 points from 10 games), has been to give a series of comedic interviews where half the time even the interviewer was smirking at him.
If you feel the need to add an expensive, meddlesome court jester to your club management, Singh is your man. Otherwise steer well clear.

Good wind-up, got a few bites. But not Steve Morgan. No. When it comes to making appointments, Steve knows what he's doing.

By all means, take him, we'll love you forever!
