This week sees three absolutely crucial nights of football for Aston Villa, whereby things should become a lot more clear.
Monday saw Sunderland and Stoke share the spoils in a match where Sunderland were reduced to 10 men for most of the game. Now a Stoke result would have been ideal but the draw is pretty good for us. The reason being that Sunderland are still below us and they take on another side below us, Southampton, at the weekend. Now, Sunderland's failure to beat Stoke means that either Sunderland or Stoke are GUARANTEED to be below us after the weekend. Very good news!
Tuesday sees Wigan take on Swansea. This match is very worrying as Wigan currently sit third from bottom on 35 points but a win for them would take 'the line' to 38 points and bring everyone up to Fulham into immediate danger. Therefore, a Swansea win or even a draw would be a fabulous result for us.It would leave Wigan HAVING to get a result at Arsenal, to be able to overhaul us.
I can't see anything other than a Wigan win though, against a team that hasn't produced a performance in ages. However, we must pray that Swansea 'want it' tonight.
Finally, Wednesday sees the London derby between Chelsea and Spurs. Now, if Chelsea win, they have effectively qualified for the Champions League. With the Europa League final coming up and Champions League in the bag, players will be rested and the clash with Villa will not matter to them. This would be incredible news for us. So, let's pray for Chelsea tomorrow, particularly if Wigan win, as expected.
Just a quick word about our neighbours Albion. They let us down spectacularly at the weekend, in failing to beat Wigan. If results go against us, their clash at Norwich will become immense for our chances of survival. We know that their fans are desperate to see us go but are the team? Saturday's evidence provides enough suspicion for me. If they were to lose to Norwich, they should NEVER be forgiven. Do you hear? Never.
The excitement, horror and tension continues then. Thanks a bunch Albion.
Three crucial nights for us !

Did you mean Sunderland or Southampton would be below us?

Bottom line is our fate is in our own hands. Newcastle are the ones that look like they have nothing left. It's out of there hands and the players look like they can't stomach the fight. Wigan will not go down as usual.
For 80% of the season they are tripe but for the last 2 months they start to play football and annoy people. They can't even sell out there FA Cup tickets they have so few fans.
If we can grab a 2 points against Chelsea and Wigan then we'll be fine. I just can't see Newcastle turning it around. Pardew on the most ludicrous deal in history and all there better players already wanting out.........
Watch this space, even if we lose our next 2 games Newcastle will lose theres.

ANDYGRAYS:
One of Stoke or Sunderland are guaranteed to be below us, even if we lose to Chelsea.
Sunderland win = SAINTS BELOW US
Draw = SUNDERLAND BELOW US
Southampton win = SUNDERLAND BELOW US

BUMBLE
You are right that Newcastle are vulnerable. Their game with QPR could become massive too but really it's all about Wigan until then.
I think we can win at Wigan but I reallt, really, really do not want it to come down to the last game, needing a result.
