I suspect that the surprise announcement of Fergie's retirement is so that Man U can move quickly on Mourinho before he goes to Chelsea and becomes unavailable for a number of years.
It is also not impossible that Mourinho has been bigging up the connection with Chelsea to provoke such a move.

You're right, there's no comparison and that's my point. Moyes hasn't had the chance to mamage a team with lots of money and Mourinho hasn't managed a poor team. Every team he has managed has been the richest in that league. His achievements are amazing but it doesn't take away from Moyes' achievements.

Incidentally, I noticed Man City have three stars on their shirt, for their three League titles. I honestly don't know whether any other teams routinely have stars on their shirts. I would have thought that when playing domestically it makes more sense to celebrate the League titles in this way, in which case we would have two, and Forest one of course, one to be proud of. When you're next in the Champions League you can flourish your two stars, as its the nearest thing we have to the old knockout Cup that there used to be, and when we are next in it, we won't have any.

Vidal - surely if we're playing in the Championship then we should have stars for the number of times we have won that league. Going by your point what relevance do our league titles have to us when playing in the league below? And also I'm not sure there would be room to fit all the stars on the shirts of Utd and Liverpool's shirts.
